Belgian hospitals have received 459 new patients with the
virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the number to a total of 5590 people

hospital (483) than admissions, said virologist Emmanuel André during the daily
press briefing on the results of the pandemic in Belgium.
Currently, 1285 people are in intensive care (+9), of which
992 require respiratory assistance. "The pressure on intensive care
remains great and could intensify in the coming days," commented
virologist Steven Van Gucht.
Of the 283 deaths since Wednesday, 135 patients lost their
lives in Flanders, 109 in Wallonia and 39 in Brussels. 116 diagnosed
people died in hospitals, said Emmanuel André.
A total of 2,523 deaths from the new coronavirus have been
recorded in Belgium since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
In the past 24 hours, 4300 tests have been performed, which
have been positive for 1580 people. Since mid-March, 24,983 people have
been diagnosed positive with a laboratory test.
