A Letter Of Admonition To Sophie Wilmes, The Belgium Prime Minister

Sophie Wilmes, the current Belgium Prime Minister

Sophie Wilmes, the current Belgian Prime Minister

Dear Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes, certain things are going on in the country, which I consider it necessary to let you know, since from the colonial era, the Belgian government has committed and supported so much crime to the extent that the government can no longer acknowledge what is a crime and what is not.

There are three great politicians I deeply respect in Belgium. They are the Mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, the former Belgian Prime Minister, Charles Michel, and the current Health Minister, Maggie De Block.

Due to these politicians, whose hard work has transformed Belgium, I have to restrain myself to choose my words carefully over issues I seriously consider as a crime. There is no one above the law, yet in Belgium, many crimes are committed against black people with impunity.

Belgium is one of the European countries that has committed horrible crimes against black people in Africa, especially in its former colony of Congo. Surprisingly, at the end of the systematic abuse and crime against black people in Africa, the Belgian government extended it by building statues and naming streets after the perpetrator, King Leopold II.

In my opinion, Belgium should have been famous as the world’s best quality beers and chocolates producer, but the country is not known to have burned down the houses of villagers, killed over 10 million Africans, including women and children, to satisfy the greed of one monster called Leopold II.

People are educated not only to be leaders but also to find solutions to problems affecting our society, yet, like America, it seems Belgium has also taken delight in committing crimes against black people rather than finding solutions to ease racial tensions and violence around the world.

I have currently in Belgium for the past 20 years. Nobody told me that Belgium is a country that has no respect for black people. My experience as a black man and my efforts as a writer revealed a lot to me about how Belgium underestimates black people like the United States of America.

I want to make it clear to the Belgian government that having access to someone’s blog to remove all the articles I have written about the crimes your country and King Leopold II committed in Africa is not only a violation of my rights but a serious crime that needs to be addressed.

In fact, nothing favors a black man in Belgium, including the judicial system. If there is a unique law in Belgium, I would have taken a good lawyer to sue the government for illegally and criminally getting into my blog to remove published articles exposing your crimes in Africa, while you have a statue of the perpetrator in your country.

To the Belgian government, it is right to build a statue for a king, that did commit horrible crimes against humanity in Africa with impunity because the victims were black, but it's wrong for an African writer to write articles about the crimes Belgium committed in Africa, so the government or whoever has the right to take away my articles.

It’s even shameful for the Belgian government; instead of finding solutions to save the lives of people who have been sent to their untimely graves by the coronavirus, you had the time to go into a blog to remove my articles because they are nightmares to you.

This is not the first time the Belgium government has removed my published article from the web but this time, going into my blog to remove and edit links of my articles about Belgium and the royal family is a serious crime I will write about it because Belgium will definitely send me to jail if I commit such a crime by illegally gaining access into the government’s computer to delete something from it.

The Belgian government and the royal family can’t stand the truth, which reason they find my articles uncomfortable. Why can’t the government do the right thing by demolishing those senseless statues rather than declaring war on my articles? Why has the Belgian government and the royal family, for decades, seen that they are supporting crimes by building a statue for a killer rather than a king?

Stuivenberg Hospital

A couple of years ago, when I went to the notorious Stuivenberg Hospital in Antwerp to investigate the abnormally high death rate of black people in that hospital, the City of Antwerp called me a crazy man, but they didn’t call the Belgian government or the royal family crazy for building a statue for a criminal.

However, one thing the Belgian government can never deny is that after my investigation at the Stuivenberg, the hospital is now one of the safest hospitals in Antwerp. People think they have the power to do whatever wrong thing they like, but often forget that any wrong that they do will eventually come back to bite them in the rear, and you will never see it coming.

If my investigation wasn’t accurate, that Africans were deliberately killed and organs removed, why then, Mayor of Antwerp, Patrick Janssens, sent a group of police to protect the hospital for two weeks? Evildoers always run when nobody is after them. The police were there because the crime against Africans in that hospital was uncovered.

The Belgian government can underestimate me and continue to give me disrespect because I don’t need their respect, but please, the government or whoever is responsible must stop taking articles from my blog because it’s a crime.

They must put an end to it immediately because that’s not going to stop me from writing, and finally, all the articles the Belgian government or whoever is responsible has removed from my blog shall be rewritten or appear as new articles.

THE BEER STORY

Heineken beer: One of the poorest beers in the world but a good promotion has made it famous than any Belgium beer.

Heineken beer: One of the poorest beers in the world, but a good promotion has made it more famous than any Belgian beer.

Why is Holland’s Heineken one of the poorest beers of Europe, but more internationally known than any quality beer in Belgium?

This is a humorous story created by the writer, even though there are genuine facts.  Both Holland and Belgium have customs they have been following for decades and have made names for themselves in producing certain quality products.

Apart from the coffee shops selling drugs to customers with impunity and the tradition of eating a sour raw herring fish, Holland’s Heineken beer has increased the fame of the country, making it one of the most popular tourist attraction centers in Western Europe, especially in Amsterdam.

This is where the story begins: Is it a concern to people or the Belgians to find out the reason Belgium is one of the world’s leading producers of quality beer, yet the fame in that production is completely buried or lost?

Yes! Beer experts can tell you that Belgium brews more than twenty quality beers, including La Chouffe, Corsendonk Pater Noster, Leffe, Delirium Tremens, Gouden, and De Koninck, yet Heineken, a beer produced in Holland, which lacks quality standards, (if compared to Belgium’s beer) is known throughout the whole world, leaving Belgium’s quality beers far behind.

Have you ever heard of this slogan in the field of advertising? “A quality product doesn’t need any advertisement.” Since Belgium believes it produces quality beer, it relaxed, slept, and made merry around its products, without making any effort to sell or promote them.

They were dwelling on miracles to sell the beer because there is a street in Antwerp called ‘Jezus Straat’ (Jesus Street). It is true that out of compassion, Jesus turned water into wine, but to sell Belgium’s quality beer wasn’t in his diary.

While the Belgians were fast asleep, dreaming of miraculous sales of their quality beers, and waking up during the day busy building statues and naming streets after King Leopold II, a king that killed and maimed over ten million Africans in Congo, when there is no statue of Adolf Hitler, for killing six million Jews, Holland is actively engaged in seeking an international market for their poor Heineken beer. Today, Heineken is one of the famous beers in the whole world.

In Africa, we used to say that ‘Kwesi Buronyi Ye Ayen,’ meaning the White man is a witch, in the sense that they use that witchcraft to develop their country, while African witchcraft destroys.

But believe me, if there is witchcraft for destruction, it doesn’t only exist in Africa, because the continent suffered the witchcraft destruction in underdevelopment, slavery, looting, and killings in the hands of Europeans and kings like the Butcher of Belgium, King Leopold II.

La Chouffe is one of Belgium's quality beers, but its fame buried forever

La Chouffe is one of Belgium's quality beers, but its fame is buried forever..

A mind or a country full of hatred, racism, and discrimination never progresses. That’s the situation in Belgium. Despite the racial problems worldwide, the Dutch get along nicely with Surinamese, Curacao, Antillean, etc, thus, you can see that the Netherlands is more developed and better integrated than Belgium.

The Flemish find it hard to cooperate with the Walloon, let alone a Congolese or an African.  If Bart De Wever, the mayor of Antwerp, wants the Flemish to be an independent state from Walloons in such a small country, it signifies a lack of proper union and integration.

Finally, how can Belgium establish its name in the world’s beer book as the leading producer of quality beer to beat Holland? That can never happen because Holland’s Heineken beer is even available in the remote parts of Africa, where there is no electricity.

Above all, a bad character that doesn’t change is like a car’s flat tire; it doesn’t move, it always stays in the same place.

NEW THREAT OF TERRORISM OVERSHADOWS ANTWERP

Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city of Antwerp

Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city of Antwerp

Following the Brussels’ Zaventem airport and Metro station attacks by terrorists,  which claimed lives and caused injuries, a group of terrorists claiming to be ISIS posted a message on Facebook that: “Antwerp will never have a good sleep,” since then the Antwerp police have increased security to bring comfort to ‘Antwerpners’ amidst fear.

In today’s (8/4/2016) edition of Gazette Van Antwerpen, one of Belgium’s newspapers, reports that extra security is now in force, with heavily armed police, protecting citizens, after a mother warns the Antwerp police that her son has joined the Syrian fighters.

According to the woman, the intention of her son is to join other terrorists to target the famous commercial center Meir, City festival centers, and cinemas, to kill and destroy. Antwerp’s police boss Wouter Bruyns has confirmed the story.

The police have therefore issued a warning to everyone to keep away from Meir, one of the busiest shopping centers in Antwerp, and entertainment spots to avoid any bloodshed.

Even though the mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, is working hand in hand with the police, to provide extra security throughout the city, many people are still afraid, because of the violent and unpredictable nature of the terrorists.

Already, the Belgian government has lost millions of revenue, following the closure of the Zaventem airport for a number of days, to restore the badly affected halls at the airport.

Now that activities at Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city has been halted, no one can predict  how bad it’s going to affect Belgium’s economy or the Province of Antwerp.

A Glance At Antwerp Under The Administration of Mayor Bart De Wever

The Mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever and the writer, Joel Savage

Not quite long in Belgium, but fifteen years in Antwerp is enough to write a narrative essay, whenever I meet this challenge at an examination hall.

Even though, Antwerp is a famous city, known for its rich diamond collection and flourishing sea-port, in the early 2000s, the city was very rough and unsafe for both tourists and citizens.

It was this period Leona Detiége, a Belgian politician and member of the Flemish social-democratic party, then mayor of Antwerp, did her best to tackle the problems destroying the reputation of the city of Antwerp, as a tourist attraction center.

She swung into action, focusing on the notorious places, such as De Conincksplein, a neighborhood that harbored all criminal activities, including drug peddling, prostitution, bag snatching, pickpockets, pimps, etc, and De Falconplein, another notorious neighborhood, serving as a red light district for prostitutes, pimps and drug couriers.

Her undertakings weren’t just a bluff, it did really crippled the prostitution industry. Many prostitutes were arrested and deported to their countries of origin and the pimp industry collapsed.

The Antwerp police received a letter from a group calling themselves ‘The Nigerian Mafia,’ threatening and ready to fight the police to death, for taking their prostitutes off the streets.

Leona stationed a mobile police van at the center of Conincksplein 24 hours daily, and all the nefarious activities and crimes subsided. Apart from that Leona made it uneasy for landlords that stole money from tenants.

It was a period, criminal-landlords was known as ‘huismelkers’ were making a lot of money from tenants. Like a farmer milking his cow, they steal the three months guarantee paid by tenants. Her actions worked and totally reduced this menace which had taken over Antwerp.

Unfortunately, all the hard efforts of Leona came to a fruitless end, when she left office and Patrick Janssens, a member of the SP.a, succeeded her, as the next mayor of Antwerp.

Patrick Janssens probably thought the best way to serve Antwerp, is to be friendly with everyone. It was his time drug peddling, which Leona had fought to subdue, increased significantly.

There was time, Moroccans in Antwerp, believe or thought the city is for them. They drive, stop on the street, talk to friends, with a long queue of traffic behind them. Who dares to talk? You will be surrounded and if the police are not around, you will be beaten mercilessly.

At Schijnpoort, a neighborhood in Antwerp, a Belgium driving, stops and asks a Moroccan for help, as he couldn’t find a street he was looking for.

As soon as his window came down, right in front of me, the Moroccan accumulated a thick saliva in his mouth and spits onto the face of the driver. He picks up a tissue paper, wipes the saliva from his face and drove away. My heart ached when I witnessed this scene.

Under the administration of Patrick Janssens,   the situation in Antwerp grew from bad to worse. More drug trafficking at coffee shops run by foreigners. By the time he decides to take drastic action, it was too late. The people in Antwerp are fed up and really want a change.

I will always remember Patrick Janssens for saving the citizens of Antwerp from the dog’s waste explosion. It was a period one always comes home with a dog’s waste because they are everywhere. He did well to impose a fine against dog owners that leave dogs’ waste in the city after excretion.

The coming in of  Bart De Wever, the leader of N-VA party, as the mayor of Antwerp, took many by surprise. As a politician who has dreams including the creation of an independent state for the province of Antwerp, many don’t like him much, but that didn’t prevent him from winning the seat as mayor of Antwerp.

The man knows that coming into office as a mayor is not all that is important but one’s achievement. De Wever is destined to carve his name as one of the best or probably the best mayor in the political history of Belgium. Since he assumed office, De Wever has done a lot within the shortest period many past mayors couldn’t achieve.

In regard to security and safety, Antwerp is now a safe city at any time of the day, including night. Conincksplein, which used to be a dangerous place in Antwerp is now a safe community for citizens.

The newly completed library adds glamour to the beauty of the area. Antwerp also remains clean since the administration introduced fine for litterers. Alcohol forbidden zones are now in force within the city.

Despite all his achievements, many still don’t agree with him. Some say he is a good man or bad man, others think he is wicked, but whatever name they call him, there is no doubt that Bart De Wever is the best mayor Antwerp has ever got or probably the best in the political history of Belgium.

Saturday, December 4, 2010,  the Flemish Journalists Association held its end-of-year conference at the venue NOVOTEL in Antwerp

Present at the conference were various journalists representing different media, including Mr. Bart De Weaver, the president of N-VA, a Flemish Party that strives for independent Flanders in a United Europe.

The conference was officially opened by Mr. Walter Van Den Branden, the current chairman of the Vlaamse Journalisten Vereniging.

Key members of the association, including the head of the recognition commission, discussed the management and analysis of financial condition and results of operations at the conference.

The role of journalists in this new environment and the many sacrifices journalists around the world make to do their job well were also discussed.

Members who have been within the association in the past 25 years were rewarded with gifts presented by the chairman for their hard work and dedication to keep the association growing from strength to strength.

One of such members is the well-known cartoonist Mr. Bob Vincke.

Bart De Weaver's appearance at the meeting generated many questions from some of the members. He patiently answered every question.

Some of the members had the opportunity to take photographs with him. The meeting finally came to an end after a buffet and drinks for the members.
