Why are more people choosing videos over reading articles?

Every minute, new videos are posted to YouTube. Bloggers are actively consuming celebrity videos, and marketers have shifted to marketing videos, which is driving down the grade of article reading. Can we find solutions to this video craze? What's going on?

For several years, there has been a trend where individuals prefer to watch videos rather than read articles. It has now reached a point where one needs to find answers to every issue through videos rather than looking for articles to read.

However, it takes a significant amount of time to extract relevant information from a video. Worldwide, more individuals watch videos than read articles, even though movies only depict drama and frequently exclude crucial information that publications might include.

Even seasoned journalists and writers would acknowledge that writing an article requires discipline, sustained focus, and focused effort, making it a challenging task. Choosing a topic to write about that readers will find acceptable is the most difficult aspect of writing, but creating a video is rather simple.

In light of these difficulties, those who are struggling prefer to make a living on social media by creating videos. It is simple: since supply drives demand, those who make videos will always make quick money more than people who write articles.

Short videos are trendy right now, both educational and humorous. This has been the sort of comfort for many people, thus completely decreasing the amount of reading articles. Nowadays, it's not uncommon to see people using cellphones to watch videos rather than read articles.

During the pandemic, the youth spent more time on YouTube, TikTok, and other video-sharing websites, but their reading time has remained constant. That was one of the main conclusions of a recent poll conducted by the nonprofit research group Common Sense Media.

Before the pandemic, children were already using media more frequently, which is defined as anything from reading books to watching videos to browsing social media. However, due to increased media consumption related to technology, the acceleration has accelerated considerably.

Since many people find viewing videos more entertaining than reading articles, and because content creators can quickly generate money from it, eventually there will be more videos on the network than text materials.

Regardless of how the grade of reading declines, reading will always be accessible to those who prefer reading print and online newspapers, periodicals, and shopping pamphlets.

Google will understand karma as the search engine company faces huge lawsuit

Google, the search engine company is a racist, bully, oppressor, and a dictator

Google, the search engine company, is a racist, bully, oppressor, and dictator.

The parent company of the Daily Mail and Mail Online is suing Google for alleged anti-competitive behavior by shaping search results and ad auctions that harm online publishers.

The lawsuit, which was filed in a federal court in Manhattan, claims that Google mounted a dominant position in the digital advertising market and is using that market power to exclude competition.

It states that the technology behemoth now dominates the tools used by publishers and advertisers to buy and sell online ad space.

“Google represents that its publisher ad server, as a tool for publishers, maximizes the yield for publishers’ inventory. But Google operates under a conflict of interest,” the lawsuit declares.

“With its control over publisher ad serving, Google controls how publishers solicit and evaluate real-time bids for their inventory.

Meanwhile, by operating the dominant exchange and dominant buy-side software, Google is the most powerful buyer of that inventory and ultimately reduces the quality and quantity of online news,” the lawsuit insists.

Among the tactics Google uses is manipulating search rankings to “punish” publishers that “do not submit to its practices,” the lawsuit alleges.

A spokesperson for the Daily Mail told The Wall Street Journal in a statement that the paper’s anxieties arise from its assessment that coverage of the British royal family in 2021 had been downplayed in Google Search results.

Google argues against the charges in the lawsuit, stating that the Daily Mail’s allegations are “completely inaccurate.”

“The use of our ad tech tools has no bearing on how a publisher’s website ranks in Google Search. More generally, we compete in a crowded and competitive ad tech space where publishers have and exercise multiple options.

The Daily Mail itself authorizes dozens of ad tech companies to sell and manage their ad space, including Amazon, Verizon, and more.

We will defend ourselves against these meritless claims,” Google announced in a statement. =

This is the latest in a series of suits filed against Google that claim anti-competitive behavior. In January, a West Virginia media company that runs various newspapers filed a lawsuit asking a federal court to determine whether Google and Facebook had broken antitrust laws.

The lawsuit alleges Google has unlawfully applied monopoly power in the digital advertising market, which has limited newspapers from competing in the market and caused them to lose their primary source of revenue.

The Silicon Valley company is further facing multiple antitrust lawsuits brought by the Justice Department and attorneys general in several states.

Editorial

Google is a search engine company that controls the universe; therefore, they feel like “God,” if I should say. They set rules for the world to follow, yet they break those rules themselves by committing serious crimes with impunity.

The company doesn’t repent or change its bad habits and will do everything, including a crime, for the sake of money. Sometimes, I strongly believe they don’t have respect for even Black people because I have been publishing every crime by Google on our blogs, yet they still do it.

I can’t express in words the injustices Google has done to me and our blogs, just to suppress information. There is no way I wouldn’t be incarcerated if I had to commit the same crimes against the search engine company or anyone.

The search engine company will continue to oppress the helpless, but there are big companies that have the power to face them. This is what we are seeing now, and this lawsuit won’t be the last because Google is an oppressor and dictator.

Why Joe Biden Needs To Call Every American President A Racist Before Trump

Why Joe Biden Needs To Call Every American President A Racist Before Trump

Biden accuses Trump of racism, an issue he couldn't solve in his entire life in America until changes after the murder of George Floyd

It's now on air, television and in the newspapers, Joe Biden accusing Donald Trump, a racist American president, promoting racism in the United States of America.

According to Joe Biden, the kind of Trump as president has never been realized in the political history of America, saying Trump lacks leadership skills to handle the coronavirus crisis in America.

Politics is said to be a dirty game but I think people will not dispute the fact that it is also full of hate, hypocrisy, lies, and deceptions.

I don't care who is the president of the United States of America, since every American president, whether Democrat or Republican, commits a crime in Africa.

Today, Joe Biden who wants to kick Trump out of the office and become the next American president is calling Donald Trump a racist.

Institutional racism has been in America decades after the abolition of slavery, yet no American leader I know, including Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Obama, etc, did anything significant about it to change the situation in America.

Obama was the 44th president of America and Joe Biden was the vice-president. For eight years what did Obama and Biden do to improve the systematic abuse and oppression of African-Americans, until the brutal murder of George?

Why is Joe Biden now using George Floyd's death for a political campaign against Trump? Would he call Trump a racist if George Floyd hadn't been killed? This is what I mean by the hypocrisy of politics.

There are so many records revealing the systematic killings of African-Americans by white police officers.

According to an old publication that appeared in the 'Washington Examiner,' on October 1, 2016, "Murder far worse for blacks under Obama."

The paper explained further that, "Donald Trump's pitch for black votes is that the condition of African-Americans is terrible decades after being failed by Democratic policies."

The problem with Americans is, they don't care whether the US government commits a crime in Africa or not. They only analyzed the political issues in the country and decide who to vote for.

However, being an African writer, from a continent that has suffered a great deal at the hands of foreign governments, including the United States of America, I consider Joe Biden a hypocrite since he failed to call other American presidents Racists before Trump.

And I strongly believe that true Americans will never vote for Joe Biden because he is a hypocrite.

NEW THREAT OF TERRORISM OVERSHADOWS ANTWERP

Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city of Antwerp

Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city of Antwerp

Following the Brussels’ Zaventem airport and Metro station attacks by terrorists,  which claimed lives and caused injuries, a group of terrorists claiming to be ISIS posted a message on Facebook that: “Antwerp will never have a good sleep,” since then the Antwerp police have increased security to bring comfort to ‘Antwerpners’ amidst fear.

In today’s (8/4/2016) edition of Gazette Van Antwerpen, one of Belgium’s newspapers, reports that extra security is now in force, with heavily armed police, protecting citizens, after a mother warns the Antwerp police that her son has joined the Syrian fighters.

According to the woman, the intention of her son is to join other terrorists to target the famous commercial center Meir, City festival centers, and cinemas, to kill and destroy. Antwerp’s police boss Wouter Bruyns has confirmed the story.

The police have therefore issued a warning to everyone to keep away from Meir, one of the busiest shopping centers in Antwerp, and entertainment spots to avoid any bloodshed.

Even though the mayor of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, is working hand in hand with the police, to provide extra security throughout the city, many people are still afraid, because of the violent and unpredictable nature of the terrorists.

Already, the Belgian government has lost millions of revenue, following the closure of the Zaventem airport for a number of days, to restore the badly affected halls at the airport.

Now that activities at Meir, one of the busiest commercial centers in the city has been halted, no one can predict  how bad it’s going to affect Belgium’s economy or the Province of Antwerp.

YOUR ENEMY GETS MAD, IF HE FAILS TO SEE YOU THE WAY HE WANTS

A Rae Smith quote

A Rae Smith quote

No one gives birth to a child and names him or her ‘Enemy,’ thus, I haven’t met anyone yet called ‘Enemy.’ Yet an enemy exists, the reason the dictionary defines it: As a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.

What causes enmity between people? I watched a program about a man who hates his neighbor. According to him, his neighbor’s stereo was too noisy, and many times when he asked him to reduce the volume, he refused to yield to his demand.

I understand him, especially after the week’s hard work, you wish to have a happy and quiet lovely weekend, reading your favourite books and newspapers, but that neighbour of yours has denied you all those good moments you’re longing for.

At times, you might be an enemy or someone might hate you for doing no wrong, just because of your efforts to live a happy life. Do you know that your hard work can sometimes spark jealousy and hatred from an empire of deceitful enemies?

Do you know that even your successful marriage sometimes makes you an enemy, because your neighbour’s marriage is on the rocks? How do you handle such situations when you haven’t done anything wrong but someone madly hates you?

I do hear people often say: The problem was beyond my control, the reason I used food as a means of consolation, became an alcoholic or a drug addict. That’s really a big mistake. When you’re experiencing problems, you don’t live on destructive measures to solve your problems; you need to fight those destructive elements.

Years back, when I arrived in Europe, among other foreigners, I came to Italy at a time when I didn’t know anyone. I slept at the Central Train Station in Rome for many days. (I have revisited Rome to see where I slept in the early nineties) I saw that the hard conditions were taking their toll on some of the homeless Africans.

Some became alcoholics, drug addicts, involved in drug trafficking, and some decided to go back to Africa. I encouraged them to stay, but many of them returned to Africa. Today, I’m no longer an illegal immigrant.

Above all, I live with my wife and three children in Europe. I wake up every morning at 5 AM and go to work like other workers, enjoying a happy union with my family when I come back home.

I know what the enemy wants. I wasn’t ready to be a destitute, alcoholic, drug addict, or courier. If I have made it, then you can. Never blame anyone for your failure in life. Don’t let your enemy be happy. Fight those destructive forces to make them mad.

Failure Is A Lesson That Encourages And Improves The Quality Of Life

Having faith in God builds one strong enough to avoid depression, loneliness, and suicidal tendencies.

Having faith in God builds one strong enough to avoid depression, loneliness, and suicidal tendencies.

I have heard many times that ‘failure is not an option.’ Does it mean that we have to be perfect and successful in whatever we want to achieve in life? How can that be possible? Because since we are human beings and imperfect, we shall continue to experience many setbacks, including failure and disappointment, daily in our lives.

In relationships, careers, and businesses, we are all bound to suffer certain problems. The question is, how do we handle or take it personally when we encounter such painful defeats and failures?

I have seen it in sports, tournaments, and certain fields of activity: participants emotionally and psychologically break down in distress because they failed to achieve what they aimed at.

Life isn’t an easy journey if you want to achieve something genuine. Many like to avoid life pitfalls or turmoil by choosing the wrong path or shortcut. You can see them driving expensive cars and dwelling in beautiful mansions, but you don’t know what they do for a living.

When you see them like that, many wish they were one of them, but be careful wishing you were someone until you read on the front page of newspapers that the person you wished to be has been arrested at one of the international airports in possession of heroin or cocaine.

Would you like your life to end up in this way because you wanted to avoid life’s failures and disappointments?

The world is full of great people; sometimes your eyes will be filled with tears when you read their autobiographies to know what they went through before achieving success. In life, failure or disappointment teaches one to be perfect. It is worth, therefore, seeing failure as one of life’s tools that educates and shapes life positively.

My passion to be a writer was easier in Africa than in Europe, yet when I was in Africa, I thought Europe would be the right place for me to achieve my aims and objectives. Once in Antwerp, Belgium, I tried to raise funds to enhance the publication of one of my books. It turns out to be one of the biggest failures in my life.

I couldn’t raise a cent, but this embarrassment wasn’t only what happened. I became a laughing puppet at the school where I’m working. It became the talk of the town with gossip and laughter. Instead of being sad or depressed, I embraced and accepted it as one of life’s challenges to continue writing without looking back.

People do things you may find hard to believe. I don’t even think children will do what they did. The failure of the fundraising also taught me to be careful of those I contact to demand bread.

If one fails to accept failures and disappointments as instruments destined to educate and propel your career to the highest peak, one may end up in psychiatry with depression or mental problems.

YOU TOO CAN WRITE FOR MONEY

Writing is an interesting creative part of life

Writing is an interesting, creative part of life.

Many are born with talents. Some of these talents could be hereditary. While others go to school to learn whatever they want to do in life. In this case, some people are born as writers while others are made.

As an African writer who grew up in a hard environment, where education was and is always a luxury, I don't think I would have made it to the university level to study journalism. It is very expensive to study at a university in any part of Africa.

At a very tender age in middle school, I detected my passion for writing. Mine was hereditary because my father was one of the best Ghanaian journalists during the Kwame Nkrumah era. Justin Kodzo Savage (JUSKOSAVE) was assigned as a reporter to travel with Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana.

Many newspapers reject articles. They look for special articles of interest. It seemed I hit my targets right. Every article I wrote was published. That encouraged me to read and write more articles. At secondary school, I had already made a name for myself as a writer.

I was paid for many of my articles, and within a short period, not that I became well known, but I made a lot of money from my writings. There are many books about how to be a successful writer, but I have my own ideas and rules I dwell on to be a successful writer.

1. Please, when one wants to write articles that can easily be accepted by the print media for publication, choose topics like teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, crime, or any other social problems affecting society to write about. The print media love them.

2. When writing, let readers know about the effect of the chosen subject on society. You could even suggest how the government should tackle the problem by reducing or permanently eradicating it.

3. Don't try to impress the publisher by writing long articles, or else the article may lose its significance. Let your article be short, with all the ingredients that make it interesting. You will be happy sitting by your dining table, reading your own written article.
