Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, The Asantehene, Has Let The Ashanti People Down More Than Akufo Addo

Tribalism prevented Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, from seeing the Ashanti Region's development.

The history of Ghana would be incomplete without the history of the Ashanti Kingdom because of the Ashanti’s powerful culture, heritage, festivals, and Manhiya Palace, which continue to attract people to visit the Ashanti Region. Sadly, the place is not without its flaws; despite its amazing history, it lacks development and has many filthy areas throughout the town. However, I hold the Asantehene responsible for the lack of progress and development in the Ashanti Region, not Akufo-Addo.

This article will reveal my claim that the Asantehene is to blame for the Ashanti Region's lack of progress, even though many may disagree. Everyone knows that the Akufo-Addo administration is among the most useless governments in the world; they are unable to develop the country or create jobs. The question is what steps Asantehene has taken in the past to address the issue, considering that the NPP is a government lacking in development, and more importantly, he criticized Mahama.

When Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated that the Ashantis do not need development and that giving them T-shirts alone can secure them the votes the NPP needs, I expected Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, to call Matthew Opoku Prempeh to his palace to discuss the issue and demand an apology from the NPP politician, but he did not. This made me think that the Asantehene, with all his experiences in traveling abroad, still adheres to tribalism rather than development.

It surprised me that the Asantehene did not find Matthew Opoku Prempeh's statement disrespectful to him and the Ashanti Kingdom as a whole, in addition to finding it offensive. The Asantehene saw nothing wrong with the NPP government of John Kufuor, the former leader of Ghana, for failing to develop the Ashanti Region sufficiently, and similarly, under the administration of Akufo-Addo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II failed to improve the lot of the Ashanti people.

Let Asantehene tell Ghanaians what Akufo-Addo has accomplished in the Ashanti Region, since these are John Mahama's accomplishments in that region alone.

The Asantehene's disdain for the advancement of the Ashanti Region has affected the whole nation. Reluctant to be associated with criticism of Akufo-Addo, he remained silent as the NPP utterly ruined the country. But just when things were improving under Mahama and the economy appeared to be expanding, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II joined the tribe in their assault on Mahama. He works as a fundraiser these days to collect funds to keep hospitals open.

The request for financial support to save the Okomfo Anokye hospital should have been the responsibility of the NPP government rather than the Asantehene. However, the embarrassment of this deplorable fundraising extends beyond the NPP and touches the Asantehene personally as well. Not only does the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital require renovation, but the roads throughout the Ashanti Region are in terrible shape, and the Asantehene is revered by the tribal people due to his wealth and abundance of gold.

Ghana is undoubtedly a sick nation, home to thousands of people whose minds have been irreparably ruined by tribalism. Many people continue to admire Akufo-Addo and Asantehene despite sleeping next to filthy gutters and dirty environments. However, since the latter recognized his error, he is now asking for money to rescue things, which to me seems too late, but I am very glad he has acted responsibly to expose the incompetence of Akufo-Addo.

Asantehene, who for a long time refused to warn Akufo-Addo as I did during his reckless spending of state money at a time the nation was gradually shifting into dire straits, is rather to blame for the collapse of the nation's economy, businesses, and investments. Kumasi is currently one of the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana, but its environment is extremely dirty, while the nation is currently burdened with massive debt and a lack of accountability; yet, foolish individuals such as K T Hammond will come out and say the NPP will break the eighth cycle.

I'm not going to stop warning Ghanaians, even if it means losing my head. The current political and economic crisis is only the tip of the iceberg of the agony that has driven many individuals, including women, to take their own lives. What is about to come will be far worse. Ghanaians will recognize their foolishness for permitting a group of family political criminals to control the nation as politicians if they encourage rigging through vote buying to help these criminals win power in 2024.

Akufo Addo, what portion of inheritance do you have in the nomination of the new Special Prosecutor?

Left: The Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo Addo, and right: the nominee for the appointment of the Special Prosecutor

Left: The Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo Addo, and right: the nominee for the appointment of the Special Prosecutor

I don’t know if President Akufo-Addo has a personal assistant or an advisor. Even if he has one, I don’t want to know, since that person could be the worst advisor in the political history of Ghana to a president.

I need to ask this question because since Nana Akufo-Addo became president of Ghana over five years ago, his decisions and actions have been total failures, culminating in the suffering of common Ghanaians, yet the president hasn’t learned any lesson.

Following the resignation of the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, on November 16, 2020, in accordance with the country’s constitution, the president has to fill the position of the former Special Prosecutor; therefore, a lawyer by the name of Kissy Agyebeng appears.

His nomination as the new Special Prosecutor has already sparked a lot of controversies, with Kennedy Agyapong, a Member of Parliament for the Assin Central, calling him evil and criminal.

What appears to be serious about this matter is that Kennedy Agyapong is a member of the New Patriotic Party.

In another development, the former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, also said that the “Special Prosecutor nominee Kissi Agyebeng is a ‘surrogate’ of Agyapa deal advocates” (reference: ModernGhana); in other words, Kissi Agyebeng is not qualified for that post.

In such a situation, any good president of a country would have to delay that nomination, but Akufo-Addo has ignored those opposing the nomination and has expressed hope in the Parliament to speed up the vetting process for Kissy Agyebeng’s appointment.

I was among other writers that constantly attacked Martin Amidu as a corrupt Special Prosecutor who has failed to protect Nana Akufo-Addo.

It was when the former Special Prosecutor resigned that it became clear to me that Amidu was under the domination and oppression of Nana Akufo-Addo to avoid the prosecution of any corrupt politician in the country.

My question is why did it take so long for Amidu to resign? Then I found the answer: all the time the man has been waiting to see if Nana Akufo-Addo could ever change his corruptible ways, but that never happened; therefore, Amidu decides to leave because he has had enough of a disgrace he doesn’t deserve.

One doesn’t need to be a political analyst to observe the kind of politics in Ghana under the administration of Akufo-Addo.

His entire ministry and the judges at the Supreme Court are unproductive elements that have destroyed Ghana beyond remedy.

There is no truth in Ghana, and if you try to stay on the path of the truth in that country, this can cost you your life.

Indeed, the dawn of the Culture of Silence has fallen on Ghana, yet many Ghanaians don’t want to accept it. Those that rebelled against Mahama over 'dumsor' and corruption are nowhere to be found today, even though Akufo Addo's time is the worst for Ghanaians.

Even before Sam Jonah made the statement about the culture of silence in Ghana, it will be recalled that on March 12, 2021, Ghanaweb published one of my articles captioned “Why it is more obvious that Ghanaians fear Akufo-Addo than John Mahama.”

Nana Akufo-Addo is the kind of president who likes to work with corrupt people because he is corrupt. In any good country, following the biggest corruption scandal that hit the Director of Communications to the President of Ghana, Eugene Arhin, that man should have tendered his resignation, but Akufo-Addo has still kept him in his office.

Nana Akufo-Addo sacked Domelevo because the former auditor-general wasn’t ready to accommodate the president’s massive corruptible schemes.

That is why today, he is dying to appoint Kissy Agyebeng because he knows he is the right man who will protect him and follow his corruptible deals without exposure.

Sometimes it seems to me that African leaders only remember a foreign country's name when ready to visit because if they know that whatever is taking place in Ghana is secretly filed by various foreign governments, including the United States of America, they will think like human beings in whatever they do.

These are some of the reasons there are so many Europeans and Americans that know exactly what is taking place in Ghana better than even a Ghanaian. Before a Ghanaian starts talking to them about politics, they will tell you the Ghanaian president is related to the finance minister and the former Supreme Court judge.

Nana Akufo-Addo is the kind of president who is very stubborn, difficult, and not willing to listen to anyone; therefore, he will always follow his desire for his failure and injury.

He never cares about his errors because he knows he has people that are ready to support him.

However, I will remind him that the appointment of Kissy Agyebeng will be another catastrophic failure and setback to his government.

If Akufo-Addo is wise, he should listen to the voices of Kennedy Agyapong and Martin Amidu, unless he wants to live the same life of deception, lies, and corruption.

THE CATALYST TO THE FAILURE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF AKUFO ADDO IN GHANA

Nana Akufo Addo, the Ghanaian president

 Nana Akufo-Addo, the Ghanaian president

Last year, on October 9, 2020, I sent an email to one of the editors of ModernGhana news, called Bright Adamson, which reads, “Good morning, Sir. I can see that at the moment in Ghana, the political situation in the country is very dangerous because of the forthcoming elections.”

"Even after writing a positive article about the handling of the coronavirus by Akufo-Addo, I still generated unfriendly comments. I don’t want to be part of it with articles that can cause political instability between the NDC and NPP. I will, therefore, lay down my pen for a while until the election is over."

“Great decision,” was the answer from the editor. Why am I writing this, Mr. Okoampa-Ahoofe? When actively contributing regularly to the ‘ModernGhana News’ as a columnist, I can say that I am one of the writers who was more frequently attacked daily with insults under different names than any of the other writers.

The fact that John Mahama has already been declared corrupt by Ghanaians and is no longer the president, I focused my articles on Akufo-Addo, who said he is against corruption, yet many people refused to understand me or accept the message and constantly accused me of being a member of the NPP.

They said I hate Akufo-Addo, the reason I came out with harsh publications against him, but this is the same treatment or discipline we had from our parents, who want to bring their children up to be good people in society. Our parents never spared the rod to bring us up as bad children because they enjoy hearing their son or daughter is a good boy or girl.

I don’t hate anyone in Ghana, and I am not affiliated with any political party, but being a Ghanaian, I want my country to be good for me to have a better stay, like all the common Ghanaians, anytime, when I am on a pension.

Mr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, if you are truly sincere and can turn back time, go back and compile all the articles I wrote about Akufo-Addo, and you will see that everything that I said has come to pass. I am not a prophet, but whatever I said about Akufo-Addo and what would happen in Ghana after being declared a winner has taken place.

Why? Because I didn’t spare the rod to spoil the child, while you refused to address the serious problems the Akufo-Addo government is facing because you are related to him. I can beat my chest with confidence today that Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe is responsible for the downfall of Akudo Addo’s government and the chaotic political situation in the country.

I have lived in Belgium for over two decades. Seeking political information from institutions is as easy as ABC if you have the right credentials, yet I refused to publish anything about the corruption and money laundering scandal that hit the Ghana Embassy in Belgium, leading to the closure of the embassy’s accounts at the ING bank, firstly, because it was close to elections, and secondly, because I want to avoid people attacking me for hating Akufo Addo.

One of my articles on Modern Ghana News was directed to the Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Vincent Oppong Nkrumah, pleading to ask Nana Akufo-Addo to take over the uncompleted projects, including hospitals, left by the NDC government. Surprisingly, I was attacked by some Ghanaians over that article.

Wouldn’t it have been a great achievement, with much support and respect to Nana Akufo-Addo, to have taken over the projects, as the hospitals would have served a meaningful purpose in this dangerous period of COVID-19 in the country?

Mr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe has written over 5,000 articles. If it matters to any Ghanaian, find out from his articles the one where he spoke against the corruption scandals that tainted the image of the current Ghanaian leader, who promised to fight against corruption, after Ghanaians declared Mahama and the NDC corrupt.

I blame him for the current political situation in Ghana and the problems Akufo-Addo is facing because if he were truly interested in the suffering of the common Ghanaians and cared about Akufo-Addo, he wouldn’t have spared the rod to let Akufo-Addo face such an ugly political scene in the country.

I submitted this article to Modern Ghana News, but the editor refused to publish it because he doesn't want Ghanaians to know that whatever I published about Akufo-Addo has happened.

However, that's not what bothers me because I have thousands of readers, too. Akufo-Addo was voted out; therefore, I wish him good luck as a president.

THE REAL PANDEMIC IN GHANA IS NEPOTISM

Nepotism and tribalism pandemics are destroying Ghana than the coronavirus

Nepotism and tribalism pandemics are destroying Ghana than the coronavirus

In recent decades, Africa has firmly established itself as a continent prone to tribalism and nepotism in all fields. These viruses that create strong family ties and embezzlement of national wealth have sharply increased in Ghanaian politics, leading to the suffering of the common people.

The widespread nepotism and tribalism in Ghanaian politics today, are affecting the country's political and economic infrastructures because not every relative appointed to take a particular post is efficient and in such a situation, the president will remain silent to avoid gossips or disgrace.

This is one of the reasons despite the free education which the NPP government introduced since coming to power, Ghana is stagnant, there are no developments in other sectors. There is no employment and the depressive economy has created an unfriendly marketing environment.

Ghanaians are indeed suffering but NPP supporters and politicians find it very hard to accept this fact because of the corruptible scandals which pushed John Mahama out of office. Yet, what sensible Ghanaians have failed to discuss is when Mahama was power, Ghana wasn't in the second position as the most corrupt country in the world.

Another serious pandemic in Ghana is hate towards journalists and writers. It is an abomination to write about what is going bad in Nana Akufo Addo's government. Section of the public will either insult you or accuse you of being an NDC member.

What has Ghanaian politics offered me to join a political party in Ghana, when in Europe that things are better, I am not affiliated with any political party? I am forced to vote because I am not ready to pay the fine that will follow if I fail to vote., other than that I will not waste my time to go out and vote.

I can't confirm the truth but according to an article dated November 6, 2019,  on 'Ghanaweb,' 51 relatives of Akufo Addo are in his government. If this is true, then it's more serious than a pandemic because this can hinder the growth of the country drastically.

The unification of Akufo Addo's family in Ghanaian politics, giving rise to nepotism, tribalism, and corruption in his government, is affecting Ghanaians because many of them are not qualified to keep an office and if qualified, they lack skills and efficiency.

If Akufo Addo's relatives in his government are efficient, Ghana wouldn't be in this hopeless situation under such an elephant size ministers, who are just draining and wasting the hard-earned resources of the country.

I have said this before that Akufo Addo will still win the forthcoming elections, therefore, Ghanaians must be prepared to pass through another waterless wilderness for four years.

After 30 years in Europe, I am now confused if it's better to die in Ghana or Europe at old age because Ghana is in an extremely bad position. Any common Ghanaian that says the current political or economic situation is good, might be enjoying extra funds from the government coffers. Life in Ghana is harder than rock.

Nepotism in Ghanaian politics is collapsing the country, as well as an impediment to progress, the government must find a remedy to tackle this political pandemic like that of coronavirus in the country.

Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings: The Hate For The Father Spreads To The Daughter

Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, the daughter of former Ghanaian leader, John Jerry Rawlings

Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, the daughter of former Ghanaian leader, John Jerry Rawlings

Hate, lies, and hypocrisy are the three elements associated with politics because politicians think without them activities will not function very well, but the truth is these elements are impediments for a country to cultivate a successful government.

Without objective criteria, hate can lead to the attack of hard-working people, including politicians. Politics in Ghana, like in other African countries, are accustomed to double standards of untruth, deception, and the lack of tact, diplomacy, and a sense of humor.

An article captioned ‘Probe Politicization Of Food Distribution’ appeared on the ModernGhana news site on April 16, 2020.

The article was about the dissatisfaction of the Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, calling on the government to probe the seeming politicization of food distribution amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The call of the Member of Parliament for the Klottey Constituency, Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings, is based on the fact that since the food distribution began, reports are circulating that it is done on a partisan basis. Prior to this accusation, there were a few videos on YouTube on this particular issue as well.

However, according to the publication, the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, who wasn’t happy over what the Member of Parliament said, hit back, calling her remarks fabricated lies.

This is one of the typical antagonisms in Ghanaian politics, even if it's true, and if you dare to speak about it, the ignorant Ghanaian will either insult or accuse you of being a member of the NDC.

What is the significance of joining a political party in Ghana when in the country that I have lived in for the past twenty years, I have had no affiliation with any political party despite how much more efficient the politicians are than African politicians?

Which government comes to power in an advanced country and leaves projects to rot because they were started by the opposition? Unless it's Africa or Ghana. Akufo-Addo, who wants Ghanaians to believe he is efficient and an intelligent leader, did that.

I can't recollect how many articles I wrote pertaining to this issue, including one to the Minister of Information, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, humbly requesting him to persuade Akufo Addo to take over the uncompleted projects, including hospitals, left unfinished by the former government.

Akufo-Addo refused; however, if he had put jealousy and hate behind him and completed those projects, the hospitals would have served a good purpose during the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country at the moment.

Many NPP supporters are only interested in hate, verbal attacks, and insults without realizing that every bad policy or decision taken by Akufo Addo doesn't affect him or his ministers but the common Ghanaians.

John Jerry Rawlings is not only the longest ruler in the political history of Ghana but also one of the most hated Ghanaian leaders after John Mahama; the fact that the psychological scars from his military era are still taking their toll on Ghanaians today.

The atrocities committed by the military junta during the days of Rawlings are some of the reasons the hate for him has overflowed its banks to his innocent daughter, Zanetor. Even though that's what most Ghanaians enjoy, it is not right. Ghanaians should not hate Zanetor because of her father.

All the ministers enjoy various benefits, including the free supply of petrol for their vehicles, apart from their fat salaries, while the common Ghanaians wallow in poverty amidst poor medical care and a high rate of unemployment.

The fact is, the intelligent Ghanaians don't care about politics in the country; it's those that think everything that glitters is gold who worship Ghanaian politicians because they are expecting miracles from them, which will never appear anywhere in Ghana because of massive undetected and invincible corruption.

Hate in politics is a disease that destroys the entire nation; therefore, if Ghanaians will resort to this kind of life in the country, I must assure them that everything will seem fine to them in the country, yet things will be extremely bad. Time will tell.

AKUFO ADDO IS DOING WELL BUT THE COUNTRY'S JUDICIARY SYSTEM NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

The current Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo Addo, photo credit: Ghana media

The current Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, photo credit: Ghana media

I am really glad about the way the Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, has handled the situation of the coronavirus in the country, despite previously criticizing him for refusing to evacuate some Ghanaian students stranded in China during the outbreak of the disease, which hasn't yet subsided.

Decades after African countries liberated themselves from the yoke of colonialism, the leaders continue to disappoint the people by their involvement in deep corruption scandals with impunity. Every Ghanaian leader who actually promises to fight corruption fails. This has been with the Akufo-Addo regime as well.

However, regarding handling state affairs, Akfufo Addo, who actually seems to lack the knowledge of effective leadership, has suddenly impressed many Ghanaians over the daily management of affairs in the country, and above all, the way he quickly handled the coronavirus situation in the country to avoid the spread.

Even though at the moment, Ghana has registered 214 cases and 5 deaths, it's clear and obvious that the quick, strict preventive measures of the government have helped to lower the rate of people who could possibly contract the infectious disease.

One of such preventive measures instituted by the government is
The Emergency Operations Centre, which has been activated to send alerts to all regions to the Public Health Emergency Management Committees, to initiate preparedness activities, and enhance surveillance for respiratory diseases.

The corruptible judiciary system, which undermines Akufo-Addo's government

The effective performance of the judiciary in Africa has been one of the biggest problems the judiciary system has faced for ages. The problem still exists in Africa today. Ghana's judiciary is wholly corrupt and ineffective, giving the opportunity to elites to break the law with impunity.

It only becomes headlines when high government officials are involved in corruption scandals, but after some time, it becomes a piece of dead news because nobody is punished or goes to jail for the crime they commit.

It seems the Ghana judiciary system was purposely established in the country to take care of goat and chicken thieves. This unprofessional act is what is actually undermining the current Ghanaian government, and from every angle, he seems to be satisfied with it; it seems he has no solutions to make it better.

Corruption reigns everywhere in Ghana, including land issues. Chiefs in possession of lands in the country continue to resell to more than one buyer with impunity because they believe in the weak judiciary system. I believe Nana can change things, but how determined to do that?

An important thing Nana Akufo-Addo must understand is the role the judiciary system plays in the improvement of a country's economy; therefore, no matter how effective he becomes, if the judiciary system is not effective, his effectiveness will materialize at a very slow pace.

AFRICAN COUNTRIES CONFIRMED OF COVID - 19, THE CORONAVIRUS

The Ghanaian leader, Akufo Addo, has taken strict measures in the country to avoid the spread of the coronavirus

The Ghanaian leader, Akufo-Addo, has taken strict measures in the country to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

More than 937,000 infections are confirmed in at least 180 countries and territories, including at least 47,000 deaths. However, in Africa, over 146 infections of the coronavirus have now been confirmed, which is very low compared to other continents.

However, experts warn that an outbreak there could cause a medical disaster due to inadequate healthcare facilities and a fragile health system in Africa.

In Africa, the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has hit, especially, the more touristic countries and countries that are further north or south of the equator.

Egypt tops the list with 776 cases, with 52 deaths, while Algeria follows with 847 cases, with 58 deaths, and South Africa, 1,380 cases with 5 deaths.

Many patients are travelers arriving or returning from Europe, the US, the Middle East, or Asia. A first case surfaced in Kenya yesterday, a Kenyan who had been to the United States.

According to Professor Marleen Temmerman, who works at the Nairobi University Hospital in Kenya, it is striking that the virus has not yet spread around Africa.

"That could be a matter of time," she says, but virologists also point to climatic conditions. The flu virus may not thrive in tropical countries."

Most African countries now have a health plan in place. Some countries have stepped up border controls. For example, in Mali, people coming from risk areas must be kept in isolation for 14 days. Everyone who arrives in the capital, Bamako, is checked for fever.

Thousands of passengers from China have already been screened in Ethiopia. Addis Abeba is an important hub for international air traffic.

This morning, Morocco has banned all incoming flights from, among others, Belgium. Sudan has stopped bus traffic with neighboring Egypt after the first death.

In Rwanda, residents have been banned from shaking hands for a week. In that central African country, however, this is an important ritual, and people often walk hand in hand on the street.
That is currently not possible, says the government.

In the Rwandan capital Kigali, there are washbasins with soap at bus stops, restaurants, banks, and shops. The Rwandan newspaper New Times made an informative video about it. (see below and continue reading under video)

Somalia - 5 cases, Botswana - 4 cases, Gambia - 4 cases, 1 death, Central African Republic - 3 cases

Burundi - 2 cases, Sierra Leone - 1 case, Zimbabwe - 8 cases, 1 death, Angola - 7 cases, 2 deaths

Chad - 7 cases, Sudan - 7 cases, 2 deaths, Cape Verde - 6 cases, 1 death, Liberia - 6 cases

Mauritania - 6 cases, 1 death, Mali - 31 cases, 3 deaths, Guinea - 30 cases, Ethiopia - 29 cases

Tanzania - 20 cases, 1 death, Republic of the Congo - 19 cases, Gabon - 18 cases, 1 death

Equatorial Guinea - 15 cases, Eritrea - 15 cases, Namibia - 14 cases, Libya - 10 cases

Mozambique - 10 cases, Seychelles - 10 cases, Syria - 10 cases, 2 deaths, Benin - 9 cases

Eswatini - 9 cases, Guinea-Bissau - 8 cases, The Democratic Republic of the Congo - 109 cases, 9 deaths

Rwanda - 82 cases,  Kenya - 81 cases, 1 death,  Madagascar - 57 cases,  Uganda - 44 cases

Togo - 36 cases, 2 deaths, Zambia - 36 cases, Niger - 34 cases, 3 deaths, Djibouti - 33 cases

Burkina Faso - 282 cases, 16 deaths, Cameroon - 233 cases, 6 deaths, Ghana - 195 cases, 5 deaths

Senegal - 190 cases, 1 death, Malta - 188 cases, Ivory Coast - 179 cases, 1 death

Nigeria - 174 cases, 2 deaths, Egypt - 779 cases, 52 deaths, Algeria - 847 cases, 58 deaths

South Africa - 1,380 cases, 5 deaths

At the end of December 2019, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Experts previously established that the causative agent of the disease was a new type of coronavirus, 2019-nCoV.

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization announced the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19, which by this time had affected 118 thousand people in 114 countries.

Mahama must learn the reasons Akufo-Addo opposes his return to the presidency

Akufo Addo before and after becoming president

Akufo-Addo before and after becoming president

The social network or the media is a wonderful place that allows you to connect directly with your audience, and also an opportunity to see some old photographs of current African leaders to convey your thoughts and feelings about them.

We've all heard this kind of phrase: "A picture is worth a thousand words." Indeed, this old photograph of the Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, has more than one thousand stories to tell.

The old picture of our president demonstrates a sad countenance, unhappiness, weariness, and like a man who has neither hope for today nor tomorrow of becoming a president.

Then, after tough moments, Akufo-Addo won the 2016 elections to be the president of Ghana, and as we know, those who suffer to get something will never let it go. Nana Akufo-Addo has now shown Ghanaians that money is power.

We see this force and feel it sometimes when leaders use it as a weapon of oppression from time to time, but do we understand what the power of money is? Comparing the two photographs of Akufo-Addo above will give you the right answer.

To understand what the power of money is, you need to pay attention to how people behave with it. Money tells a person what to do. It gives one the power and opportunity to do whatever he likes, whether good or bad; some don't care.

This is one of the reasons after becoming president, the sweet taste of power has enabled Akufo-Addo to adapt many lifestyles, a little dictatorship, democracy, and nepotism, to build a solid wall around him.

Akufo-Addo has failed in his fight against corruption and has also failed to investigate any of his ministers involved in corruption scandals. Just last week, it appeared in the Ghanaian media that 500 seized excavators had mysteriously vanished without a trace.

As the Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo-Addo Addo should have shown a little concern to find a way to trace the missing excavators, but he didn't do that.

However, as soon as it appeared that the opposition leader, John Mahama, was linked to the Airbus scandal, the president quickly assigned the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, to investigate.

How can Ghana be a successful country this such unprofessional conduct? Anyone who talks about Akufo-Addo immediately becomes an enemy.

It seems Ghanaian journalists are even afraid to criticize Akufo-Addo's administration, ever since Mr. Ahmed Hussein-Suale was killed. Everyone is quiet in Ghana and will not dare to criticize or demand answers from Akufo-Addo.

And if you dare to say something wrong or write an article about Akufo-Addo that people are not happy about, instantly, you become an enemy, with insults coming from all directions.

But in this world, who cares if someone hates or likes me? After all, the world went free, and Christ, who didn't commit any crime, was left alone to carry the cross to face crucifixion.

Sometimes, I feel very sorry for Mahama. Corruption is in each administration of every Ghanaian leader, but it seems his involvement is the only one that has overflowed its banks that his enemies can see.

You will only miss your water when the well runs dry, Mahama. It's never an easy task to get power back if you lose it; therefore, you must understand why Akufo-Addo will not permit you to be president, probably again.

Because he has built both visible and invisible walls around him.  The promotion of the police, army, and immigration is one of the strongest foundations a leader needs; therefore, Akufo-Addo has done that.

Together with your enemies, John Mahama, you may probably have no chance to win the 2020 elections, but who knows what might change the course because there are still months ahead of us.

So Akufo Addo, Where Is The Fight Against Corruption If The Country Is 3rd In The World?

The Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo Addo

The Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo Addo

Ghana is a corrupt country in everything, including the judiciary system and politics; therefore, politicians are restless because they know what happens during elections since there are never free and fair elections in Africa, including Ghana.

A US News report has identified Ghana as the third most corrupt country in the world. Reference: https://bit.ly/38cZ4QO

According to its 2020 ranking, a characterization of 73 countries based on a survey of more than 20,000 citizens of the world and apart from Ghana which occupies the 3rd place, the classification also implies Kenya which comes in 8th position of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Others are Columbia and Mexico, known for its deadly drug cartels. Myanmar, Guatemala, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Bolivia are also in the top 10. Russia, which has been accused of electoral interference and Olympic doping, joined the top 10 this year after ranking number 12 in 2019.

In the report, respondents indicated how closely they relate each country to the term corrupt, the exact meaning of which was left to their own interpretation.

Transparency International, the German-based non-governmental organization defines corruption as the abuse of public power for private gain. The organization's most recent version of its corruption perception index also indicates that the failure to significantly control corruption is escalating a global democracy crisis.

Corruption in Ghana is at its highest peak because it takes place daily, however, it increases significantly when getting close to elections. This one of the reasons there is always political instability in Ghana, since the suffering masses, including the unemployed outraged over the impact of corruption in the country.

The fight against corruption in Ghana’s administration was one of President Nana Addo-Akufo's major priorities but what has he done today? “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”- Abraham Lincoln.

I write without inventing my own words but based on the references of what Akufo Addo himself said. On corruption, during a ceremony at the Flagstaff House (That’s what I know it is called), Nana Akufo Addo said: “While corruption is a thorny issue that permeates every fabric of Ghanaian society, especially the public sector, he believes that it is one of the worst scourges that oppose the development of Ghana.

Then when the president failed the fight against corruption, including his failure to solving chronic corruption among the members of the NPP, frustrated and embarrassed Akufo Addo, shamefully said, "it is not his job to accuse the innocent or convict officials who engage in corruption."

According to President Akufo Addo, "all cases of corruption in his government will follow due process to determine whether the officials involved are guilty or not." Oh yes, Nana Akufo Addo, this is one of the reasons you appointed the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu to do that job.

Yet, you were so scared that he will bring out corrupt NPP officials, which will affect the party’s future in elections, therefore, you sat on the neck of the man to prevent him to do his job. If the common Ghanaians you starved at home can’t see, the honest Ghanaians living outside the country know about your ‘Politricks.’

In fact, Akufo Addo, all those attacking me for speaking the truth or any time I write an article about you are wasting their time, since the articles are based on what you say but never did or about your failures. Once provoked, I get the message to repeat similar articles because the truth is bitter than the bile.

It's also necessary to add to this article that, in reality, you often see many deleted comments under my articles, only one or two are genuine, the rest of the names are from one person.

Yes, I mean a frustrated angry, tribalistic enemy full of hate, who wants everyone to believe that the article I wrote has generated 10 negative comments but the fact is the different names are from only one person. I believe intelligent Ghanaians know that too.

There is a time for everything, Mr. President, my only fear is before Ghanaians will realize how bad you are as a leader or how corrupt both NDC and NPP political parties are, then it’s too late.

Nothing can bring a change to the doomed economy of Ghana because of the impact of continuous abuse of power and corruption which has destroyed the economy beyond remedy.

Greed, Selfishness, Jealousy And Hate In Akufo Addo’s Government Will Collapse Ghana

The Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo Addo

The Ghanaian leader, Nana Akufo-Addo

A society where greed, jealousy, and hate of common things inevitably tend to trivialize trickery of all kinds in politics. The Ghanaian political arena is full of deceptive, heartless politicians whose motives are to give assurance to the common Ghanaians that they care, but they think of their own welfare first.

Ghanaian politicians believe that lies, cheating, greed, hate, and corruption are part of politics; therefore, these malpractices must be applied in whatever they do with the intention to take power or keep it, with cunning ulterior motives, calculations, and strategies.

I wouldn’t have known how cruel and heartless Ghanaian politicians are until I came to Europe three decades ago. In fact, the lives of common Ghanaians are valueless. The neglected communities, poor medical facilities, poor roads, and dirty environments kill Ghanaians, while the government shows less concern.

The latest assessment of the coronavirus epidemic reports over 900 deaths in China and more than 34,500 people were infected, almost exclusively in the country.

While a growing number of countries around the world are evacuating their nationals from Wuhan, hit by the virus, the Ghanaian government has made it clear that “they will not bow to pressure to evacuate Ghanaian students.”

I find it hard to understand the Ghanaian government. Is it because of the cost involved in the evacuation, or are they scared that the students may infect other healthy Ghanaians when they bring them to Ghana?

Whatever the reason, that decision not only undermines Akufo-Addo's government but also shows that the life of a common Ghanaian is valueless. In every situation, the Ghanaian government must try to show care to Ghanaians both in and out of the country.

A true government that really cares for its nationals will definitely go for the students to quarantine or isolate them to be thoroughly examined because it is likely that not all of them might test positive, and also possible that none of them has had the virus. This is what countries that have gone for their nationals have done.

With such a decision announced by the Special Advisor to the President, Akufo-Addo on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, why do Ghanaian politicians often get angry when people accuse them that politics in the country is to enrich themselves, but not for the common Ghanaian?

Selfish politics in Ghana will not yield any good results in the country. Akufo-Addo made that decision because a few days ago, Mr. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament- North Tongu, asked his government to evacuate Ghanaians from Wutan.

To follow that decision, that may seem the government has obeyed the instructions of a member of the NDC party and lowered their self-esteem at the same time to the member of parliament. That is how selfishness, ignorance, hate, and jealousy reign in Akufo-Addo's government.

Intelligent Ghanaians, out of fear or whatever reason, have failed to persuade Akufo-Addo’s government to continue the uncompleted projects left by the former government, but economically, Ghanaians will pay for that dearly.

What intelligent Ghanaians must understand is that whatever greed, political hate, jealousy, and selfishness style of government Akufo-Addo is depending on to rule Ghana, will not affect the politicians but the common Ghanaians.

I don't know how many times I will repeat this, Akufo-Addo's ambition to be in office for the second time will be a dream of illusion in most developing countries, let alone a developed country. The fact that he has left projects which belong to Ghana uncompleted because the former government, NDC, started those projects. What a terrible leader!

Why Bawumia’s boasts ring hollow without a credible job-creation strategy

Vice-President Bawumia, an uptown baby who doesn't know what suffering is

Vice-President Bawumia, an uptown baby who doesn't know what suffering is

Has any Ghanaian with a good thinking ability ever asked this question: why is Ghana a land with more natural resources than many European countries, yet is far behind in development?

We can’t continue blaming the colonial masters six decades after independence; therefore, the answer is that Ghanaian politicians are corrupt, inefficient, and lazy. I will repeat, Ghanaian politicians are lazy and corrupt.

This is not the first time I am writing about the useless bragging of Vice-President Bawumia, and it will not be the last because Ghanaians have eyes to see what the government is doing; therefore, Bawumia, it’s not necessary to blow your trumpet to Ghanaians about what the Akufo-Addo government has achieved. In fact, that bragging rather signifies failure.

Ghanaians continue to praise shoddy work, so projects in the country do not last. Ghanaians continue to worship and praise corrupt politicians; therefore, corrupt activities in the country have increased with impunity.

The Ghanaian government refuses to clean up its dirty, health-threatening hazards and rather promotes tourism. Lord, have mercy on the poor suffering Ghanaians.

Everything is falling apart in the country, yet when you write about it, people without conscience and integrity are the ones to attack with insults. Your insult is encouraging me to write daily without ceasing because I can clearly see the impact of discomfort taking its toll on you.

Go to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and you will be surprised to see many Members of Parliament and other politicians come to work on bicycles. They have luxurious vehicles, yet some prefer to use bicycles because they believe in human efficiency, development, and job creation, not riding in expensive cars.

How many jobs have Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, and their over 100 ministers created? These ministers receive fat salaries, with free bonuses, including free fuel to fill their vehicles, but what do they do for the suffering Ghanaians?

If Ghanaians want to know what effective leadership is, I pray that each one of you, once in your life, can be able to visit Europe. If you do, nobody will vote for any Ghanaian politician again.

The fact is, the European government never rests on its oars. European leaders are not lazy like Bawumia and Akufo-Addo. They don’t brag like the lazy Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and the pompous-arrogant Minister for Education, Matthew Opoku, because they are intellectually disciplined and intelligent.

EU leaders sit the whole year planning what to do next to give their citizens' best medical care, education, and employment.

In 2018, France created 188,000 jobs, and last year alone created an additional 260,000 jobs. Thus, unemployment reached its lowest point in ten years in mid-2019. Bawumia, how many jobs has your government created after three years in power? How many banking institutions have risen after almost every bank collapsed in the country?

In Belgium, a few weeks ago, the Belgian Prime Minister, Charles Michel, after five years in office, decided not to finish his second term. His decision to step down after five years is to begin a new appointment in 2020, offered by the European Union.

Charles Michel stepped down as Belgian prime minister after creating  290,000 new jobs. Bawumia, you brag too much. Please, use the time you are wasting bragging to create employment for the frustrated youth who are dying in the Mediterranean every year.

Ghana is richer than many European countries, so why is the country not flourishing? Someone might say Because it is an African country, so are Africans stupid, I will ask.  Frankly speaking, there is corruption also in Europe, but the politicians are not as deeply corrupt as Ghanaian politicians, and above all, they are not as lazy as Ghanaian politicians.

The Ghanaian government has no brain to utilize the resources, instead, the government keeping piling debts on the country and when people criticize, the president which any sensible words have never come from his mouth said, “Even America borrows," but American leaders are not stupid like Ghanaian leaders, so they know what they do with the money, while Ghanaian leaders put the money in their pockets.

Akufo-Addo government talks about projects, including a Cathedral, but in reality, the finances of those projects, whether executed or not, have especially enriched a privileged few close to the government and his family, after receiving taxpayers' money.

Why are many joining political parties in Ghana, especially the NPP? Politics under Akufo-Addo’s government is a lucrative business built on the foundation of corruption, tribalism, and nepotism.

Verily, I say to you, the time that Ghanaians will cry forty days and forty nights hasn’t come yet, but it will soon come. However, remember that those Ghanaians in the Diaspora, praising the inefficient government in the country can’t help you because they are pure liars and hypocrites, enjoying better lives in where ever they are.

So Bawumia, instead of making too much noise on inefficiency as efficiency, try to revive the depreciating economy of Ghana because you claim to be an economist and above, try to take a special course on how to create jobs for a country,   because the pumpkin heads of the NPP politicians are virtually empty of intelligence and ideas.

Mahama Promised To Fight Corruption, Yet Was In Numerous Corruptible Scandals

The former Ghanaian leader, John Mahama

The former Ghanaian leader, John Mahama

It seems one of the easiest promises often pledged by politicians to the suffering masses is to tackle and uproot corruption; however, when in power, they rather engage in corruption.

Reacting to criticism of being corrupt, Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama announced that he would step up against corruption and high salaries. In addition, he also said his ministers will take a 10 percent salary cut.

The announcement of the imminent pay cuts for politicians was made by Finance Minister Seth Terkper during his presentation of the 2014 budget.

According to Mr. Terkper, money deducted from the salaries would be paid into a special fund for community health and planning services, with the focus on maternal health, yet Mahama was involved in serious corruption scandals. The latest is the Airbus corruption scandal.

Despite the hate, insults, and degrading comments from the opposition and a section of the Ghanaian population against the former Ghanaian leader, John Mahama, he was nominated candidate of the main opposition party for the presidential election of 2020 during the primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

John Mahama defeated six other candidates for the candidacy by 95% of the votes, representing the candidate of the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress, for the presidential election of 2020.

The ex-Ghanaian leader, who lost the presidential elections to his rival, Nana Akufo-Addo’s NPP, now continues to attack and accuse the current Ghanaian leader of corruption, something that he was accused of during his rule.

According to the NPP government, the NPP is responsible for Ghana's poor economic situation; however, things haven’t moved easily for the suffering masses, as the country has witnessed a high rate of unemployment and the collapse of businesses, including banking institutions.

The opposition notably accused John Mahama of having received a vehicle from an entrepreneur in Burkina Faso in exchange for the award of contracts for the construction of a road and a wall around the embassy of Ghana to Ouagadougou.

However, despite all the corruption scandals that were associated with the former Ghanaian leader, the confident John Mahama recently said:

“The NDC is strong.  The NDC is united.  The NDC is ready for victory in 2020, and nothing, absolutely nothing, can stop our march towards Flagstaff House (seat of government)," said the former head of state after his victory.

He, therefore, called on the activists to join, promising to work closely with party leaders to return to power.

ECHOES OF CORRUPTION FROM THE OFFICE OF AKUFO ADDO

Akufo Addo, one of Ghana's most corrupt leaders

Akufo-Addo, one of Ghana's most corrupt leaders

If any Ghanaian thinks Akufo-Addo is not corrupt, then the person has the brain of a child. In corruption, Akufo-Addo thinks he can play smart to deceive Ghanaians, but the fact is, he is not clever. I will prove to you that Akufo-Addo is a smooth-cunning corrupt politician Ghana has ever known.

In fact, there is no difference between him and John Mahama; they are birds of the same feathers. I am standing on my feet upright, looking into the eyes of Akufo-Addo, asking you today to tell Ghanaians the reason he appointed Martin Amidu, the Special Prosecutor, to investigate corruption in the country.

I am standing upright on my feet, asking Akufo-Addo to tell Ghanaians the reason he printed the 100 and 200 Ghana Cedis notes. Again, Akufo-Addo, can you please tell Ghanaians why, despite many Ghanaians aren't happy about the new notes, the Bank of Ghana quickly released the money into circulation?

You see, Akufo Addo, everything tastes delicious in their mouths
those who don't know how to cook, the same thing applies to Ghanaians at home who have never experienced quality leadership. They cherish and admire your poor and inefficient leadership because John Mahama, the former Ghanaian leader, had disappointed them.

I know what quality and efficient leadership in Belgium is, which reason why I called you a failure. In Belgium, even cleaners earn between 1,300 - 1,500 Euros per month. Many have their own houses, paying monthly, while some have already finished the payment between 20 to 25 years.

Again, cleaners drive good cars together with high earned salary officials because the intelligent Belgian government has created an economy in which everyone, including the low-earning workers, can fit in. You don't need to be rich before you live a normal life, and you don't need to get money before going to the hospital.

And please, Mr. President, don't tell Ghanaians that since Ghana is an African country, circumstances in the country are normal because Belgium hasn't even one-tenth of the resources Ghana has. With 15 politicians, including the prime minister, Belgium's economy is one of the best in the world.

In the year 2011, all the branches of the Dexia Bank, one of the popular banks in Belgium, went bankrupt. The government didn’t watch them collapse.

As part of the operation to unwind the Dexia Group, Dexia Bank was bought by the Belgian Government for 4 billion EUR through its investment company SFPI. Today, Belfius Bank ranks as one of the best customer service and insurance banks in Belgium.

Akufo-Addo, how many banks collapsed under your administration, and how many of them did you save? You see, in life, love conquers all hate, and the truth is always bitterer than the bile, which reason I am not afraid to speak the truth.

Your government has set a world record with over 120 ministers, who continue draining the economy of Ghana. Things are extremely tough in Ghana because your ministers lack intelligence and efficiency. They don't even know their left, let alone their right.

Your government hasn't found an answer and explanation for over 500 missing excavators seized from illegal mining sites in the country, yet, as quickly as possible, you have appointed Martin Amidu to investigate the Airbus corruption scandal implicating the former Ghanaian leader, John Mahama.

Does that make you a good leader? This is one of the reasons, Akufo Addo, I say, you can only convince those you have put under perpetual fear or scared of you, that you are not corrupt, but not me. I can smell the odour of your corruption right here in Belgium.

In January 2018, Akufo-Addo appointed Mr. Martin Amidu, the former Attorney General, as Special Prosecutor to handle and investigate corruption cases that have overflowed its banks in Ghana.

Ever since Mr. Amidu was appointed, the president himself and several NPP officials have been involved in corruption scandals, yet this man always pretends everything is normal. He has never prosecuted anyone, which Akufo-Addo is enjoying.

Amidu's inefficiency in dealing with corrupt politicians in the country has given thousands of Ghanaians the evidence they need to understand that Akufo-Addo only deceived and made the public believe that he was to fight corruption.

Ghana is losing billions through corruption, and this has direct consequences for economic growth, and the price has its repercussions on consumers and ordinary people, yet you claim to fight against corruption.

Where is the fight against corruption in the country if Ghana ranks as the third corrupt country in the world, according to a US News report? Reference: https://bit.ly/38cZ4QO. I will leave this question for sincere and honest Ghanaians to answer themselves.

There is no 'Oyadieyee' on the streets of Belgium, desperate traders don't carry tubers of yams on their heads to run after vehicles looking for buyers in Belgium, and no shoe shiners are roaming on the streets of Belgium.

Because of the efficient government's VDAB, the public employment service, and one of the largest job sites of Belgium, provides modular education and supporting training on the job for such kinds of people suffering like those in Ghana.

In fact, those who love reading my articles have already seen that someone full of hate and having sleepless nights always leaves a filthy comment of insult whenever I post an article.

I will continue to delete them even if you are not somebody; nobody will hate you. Yes, people don't hate someone for nothing. It's only a fool who will repeat deleted comments daily.

Both NDC and NPP are twin brothers baptized with the holy ghost of corruption; therefore, intelligent Ghanaians must concentrate on the newly formed minor political parties in the country.

One day, you'll remember that "I told you so" because Akufo-Addo is equally corrupt as John Mahama, the man that Ghanaians hate so much. Time will tell, just be patient.
