GREAT BRITAIN: WHAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY TO BE GREAT?

Many British teenagers live on alcohol in Britain

Many British teenagers live on alcohol in Britain.

Frankly speaking, during my primary school education in Africa, I became fascinated with the country called 'Great Britain." Because travelers who have visited that country and those ready to go to London demonstrate certain things that make them elites.

Truly, one is always given a special welcome, recognition, and attention in Africa when he or she returns from Britain.

When I arrived in Europe in 1986, what I used to read in their newspapers pushed me to find out what events or historical facts made this country be called 'Great Britain.

Even though there is much crime in Africa, I believe that in Europe, Britain leads to criminal activities. Forgery, scams, falsification of documents and letters with the intention to defraud, credit card fraud, embezzlement, stealing, and rape are what make headlines in Britain.

Many people think the Dutch are stingy, but Britain is number one when it comes to stinginess. The whole world knows about this. They can't even leave a cent or penny behind for a cleaner when they lodge at hotels.

It was in Northampton, Britain, that I saw two sisters quarreling over a can of Coca-Cola, which I had never witnessed in Africa, a Third World Country. Teenage pregnancy and alcoholism make headlines.

In fashion, Britain. Comes last. Even though they are famous fashion shops, the British dress shabbily. They wore poor, inferior shoes. Obesity is taking its toll on them.

The police can't handle or cope with the surging waves of crime in the country. Stealing vehicles is on the rise. The country still drives on the wrong side of the road.

The salary scale for general workers is very low. People rush in and out of underground stations as if the devil is chasing them.

I read recently that British undercover police are allowed to sleep with women they spy on as a source to gather information. Who is the police boss in that country?

Is that the right way to gather information during an investigation?  To sleep with women as a source for information gathering during an investigation is a crime.

Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I don't see anything great about this country. I believe it's one of the most restless countries to live in the world. Wages are paid weekly, and all bills are paid weekly.

Many people are roaming roofless, and drug addiction has taken its toll on many. Great Britain? Not at all, it's 'Hell Britain.'

GOD CAN'T BE BLAMED FOR OUR OWN ERRORS

The beauty of God's creation

The beauty of God's creation

Once, a couple desperate for a child but never had one, said to me, "It's hard to live without a child when you love your wife dearly. We aim to have children, but we have never had one."

I asked the man, who is in his early forties, if he had ever made that request to God.

"Is there any God at all? If there is, then he is a very wicked God." That was his answer. I asked him, if you do not believe that God exists, and never seek for him, why then does he seem wicked to you when you have no experience with him?". He laughed.

Mistakes, crime, frustration, drug addiction, and sins are caused by individuals. Everyone knows right from wrong, but simply ignores doing the right thing and follows their desire, lust, and selfishness, without thinking of the Holy Bible or God. But when things get bad along the line, God is always blamed for our wrongdoings.

For example, a pregnant woman knows perfectly well that smoking and drinking alcohol are health hazards to an unborn child. Yet they ignore all those health hazards, by smoking, drinking, and even doing drugs sometimes.

Yet after delivery, when the poor baby becomes a handicapped child, the blame is shifted to God. Many handicapped children were caused by the parents themselves, even though some were caused by biological problems or heredity.

One may never experience the spiritual presence of God if you don't seek his face. The sweet flavor of a food doesn't guarantee its deliciousness; one needs to taste it.

Another point is, alcoholic pregnant women, giving birth to handicapped children, must desist blaming God; instead, they must refrain from alcohol, smoking, and drugs during pregnancy.

AMY WINEHOUSE TRAGIC DEATH IS A WASTE OF TALENT

Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse

The sudden death of British singer Amy Winehouse came as a shock to many of her fans worldwide, even though many people were aware of her alcohol and drug problems.

Despite how talented Amy was, her weakness to refrain from alcohol and drugs changed her image and personality, which caused her tragic death last Saturday at her London residence.

Amy Winehouse released only two albums in her life, one of which sold more than a million copies, and won five Grammys. Her soul-jazz style of singing, hairstyle, and the fashion of clothes she chose to wear made her different from many female musicians.

Amy Winehouse is not the only singer to die mysteriously of alcohol and drug-related problems. Jimmy Hendrix, Rick James, Elvis Presley, Carl Crack, Billy Murcia, Allan Wilson, and a host of others died of alcohol and drug causes. It was like they couldn't handle their own fame.

Amy's sudden death is another example of how alcohol and drugs can be disastrous to mankind. She was only 27, confirming it's true that the great really die young.

ALCOHOLISM AND TEENAGE PREGNANCY MANUFACTURED IN BRITAIN

Britain: When alcohol takes its toll on you, where to sit or sleep doesn't matter

Britain: When alcohol takes its toll on you, where to sit or sleep doesn't matter.

Britain, no doubt, is a famous tourist country. Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Number 10 Downing Street, etc., are places that make Britain unique in the tourism sector.

But statistically, Britain is well known and famous too for the country's high percentage of alcohol consumption and the rise of teenage pregnancy.

Teenage pregnancy and alcoholism used to be social problems affecting Third World countries. For example, in Asia, Africa, and some parts of Latin America, poverty has escalated to alcoholism and underage prostitution.

The result is disastrous. Inexperienced mothers carrying babies and young boys fathering children instead of being in the classrooms. As a result of these problems, child delinquency is on the rise.

The question is, "Is Britain also a Third World country?" What is causing these problems? Inadequate sex education? Are most of the drinkers from broken homes?

On the streets of Britain, it is very common on weekends to see young men and women stumbling through the streets with drinks. They drink without knowing their limit, and some sleep by the roadside and on pavements. Some are even raped and dumb.

The drunkards engage in brawls, violence, and public disorder, while the police toil in vain to maintain order and tend to those who need help. What a sick society Britain is turning into!

During drinking hours, streets are littered with the refuse of empty bottles and cans. Answering nature's call is done everywhere without a second thought, resulting in the alleys and street corners stinking of urine. This is hazardous to public health.

Over the past years, the price of drinks has been inflated to prevent more alcohol consumption, but this is not working. Health experts say the availability of cheap alcohol at supermarkets is a major factor in this problem.

Another point is how Britain wants youths to refrain from alcohol when most of their churches have been closed and turned to drink pubs?

According to statistics, the average Briton of 15 and older drinks the equivalent of about 11.2 liters of pure alcohol a year.

The report said treating alcohol-related conditions cost the state-run health service about £2.7 billion in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2007, almost double the cost in the year 2001.

Pubs and supermarkets do not care about these anti-social problems. They are selling for money to pay their workers.

It is the task of the government to come out with good measures that could help to reduce this problem. Average alcohol consumption has fallen in many nations, but Britain remains the same.

Instead of Prime Minister Theresa May putting pressure on African leaders to legalize same-sex marriage, she has more problems in her own country to find solutions.

WHY DO PEOPLE BLAME GOD FOR TODAY'S VIOLENCE?

There are many churches throughout Europe, but they are empty every Sunday

There are many churches throughout Europe, but they are empty every Sunday.

Christianity found its way to Africa through the white missionaries who went to the continent years ago, but it is like Africans have embraced the Christian faith than the whites themselves.

It is very common to see Africans worshipping God in churches on Sundays, while on the same Sunday, you see Whites at the drinking pubs enjoying glasses of wine and beer.

In Britain, a few churches had been converted to drinking pubs, yet the government is fighting hard against alcoholism, teenage pregnancy, hooliganism, and crime without success.

Many simply have no time at all to think of God, let alone to attend church service on Sundays to worship the creator. Once I visited a church in a small town in Rome-Italy called "Sacrofano."

The beautifully designed ancient church attracted me into it with the desire to fellowship with them that Sunday.

I was shocked to see that the pastor was preaching to only two people in this big church. I joined them, and the number increased to three.

In Antwerp, Belgium, most of the time I see people at the church when someone has died. It is like the church was built to pay last respect to only the dead, not the living.

The world today is full of turmoil, war, tribal conflicts, racism, discrimination, etc. All these problems are caused by man. Man decides to cause pain, havoc, and unrest to people and our societies, but not God.

Why then do people ignorantly ask, if there is God, why must all these problems occur? People drink and lose their minds to kill, stab, and beat their wives and children, yet many prefer to drink rather than read the Holy Bible, a book that heals our spiritual and physical problems.

Hebrews chapter 12:26-27, predicts that "Everything that can be shaken will be shaken.....so that only those things that can not be shaken will remain." This means that our jobs, retirement, pensions, children, health, etc, can be shaken at times.

At the same time, the Bible says, "Everything shall pass, but the word of God shall be there forever." This is an important message to remind men to find solace in God by reading the Holy Bible.

Alcohol, crime, and all the evil things men commit will lead us to a place we have never dreamt of, that is, going to hell and jail.
