THE ENSLAVEMENT OF SIERRA LEONE BY THE BRITISH

The Lumley beach in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone

In 1717, the Spanish king gave the Asiento slave import license to British traders in London, Liverpool, and Manchester, and in 1787, the Portuguese-occupied slave center of Sierra Leone in West Africa was taken over by the British.

The St. George's Bay Company, London, tried to hunt slaves in the region with dark-skinned British soldiers and slaves born in the USA and the Caribbean rather than Iancados. However, the resistance put up by the natives and the diseases brought in but not controlled by the British troops soon wiped out this group of slave hunters.

In 1792, another 1,200 slaves were transported from the USA and Canada to Sierra Leone. They were supposed to settle in Freetown, the capital, in freedom. However, unlike the Europeans, they were forbidden to own land. In 1799, when they rebelled against the dictum, they were forced to submit to British maroons from Jamaica.

With the British Slave Trade Act of 1807 and the American equivalent of 1808, the British and US governments announced that they would be abolishing the slave trade, and the transport of slaves would be classed as piracy; transporting and trading slaves would therefore be punishable by death.

However, slavery remained legal in both countries. The countries participating in the Congress of Vienna in 1815 joined in the declarations made by both nations, yet the USA and Britain were still active as slave transporters.

On February 19, 1810, Britain and Portugal concluded an alliance in which both countries agreed not to interfere with each other's activities in abducting persons from defined areas of Africa and transporting them across the Atlantic.

While around 30,000 people were transported from Africa to America every year between 1500 and 1807, a total of nine million, 50,000 were sold in America every year until 1870, a total of three million.

In 1815, Britain established the West Coast of Africa Station, with 25 warships, 2,000 officers and crew, and 1,000 Kroomen, ostensibly to suppress the slave trade. However, they controlled neither French, US, Portuguese, Brazilian, nor Spanish ships; the 150,000 Africans they took from 1,600 ships must have been victims abducted by the British themselves.

It also became obvious that the British had sufficient control of the biological weapons used to abduct the slaves. On average, the plague-infested swamps caused five and a half times as many premature deaths among the crew as other deployments of British warships.

This inability to handle biological weapons was also noted when transporting slaves on board private traders. It was the European sailors who suffered the highest death tolls on board the slave ships; during the 18th century, the mortality rate on French transporters averaged 15%, and on British ships, it was often 25%.

The time spent at anchor off the African coast was particularly dangerous; around 1770, several slave ships from Liverpool lost about 45% of their crews in this way.

In Sierra Leone, slavery was legal until 1928. In 1924, 219,275 abducted people were held as slaves. 120,000 people were murdered in the country between 1991 and 2000, and in South Sudan, two million were murdered between 1990 and 2010.

Then out of nowhere, in the year, 2014, Ebola, a hemorrhagic fever virus which had already appeared in Marburg and Frankfurt, in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1967, then first in Congo in 1976, appeared in West Africa to strike Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.

An Article About My Life In Freetown, Sierra

Leone

After visiting the Ivory Coast, Gambia, and Guinea, I made several trips to Nigeria, through the Republic of Togo and Benin.

I flew from Lagos to Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 1985. From the Lungi International Airport, I joined the ferry and landed in the capital, Freetown, in total darkness (no electricity), without any idea that Sierra Leone would be my second home to live and work for a living.

The Republic of Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa, sharing its borders with Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest.

As described by the 'Nations Encyclopedia,' Sierra Leone is composed of about 20 native ethnic groups, constituting 90% of the total population. The two largest tribes are the Mende (about 30%) and Temne (about 30%). Thirty percent of other tribes include the Bullom, Fulani, Gola, Kissi, Kono, Koranko, Krim, Kru, Limba, Loko, Malinke, Sherbro, Susu, Vai, Yalunka, and the Creoles.

The Creoles are the descendants of freed Jamaican slaves who settled in the capital, the Freetown area, in the late 18th century, and they account for the remaining 10 percent of the population, which is made up of Liberians, Europeans, Lebanese, Pakistanis, and Indians.

The British colonial masters of Sierra Leone, this partially hilly country, beautifully planned the city, Freetown, with good connecting streets. One could even walk throughout the city without joining a taxi or the “Poda-Poda,” their private-public buses.

A young child of nine or ten could direct a stranger to any one of the streets, such as Lightfoot Boston, Savage, Sanders, Wilkinson Road, Campbell, Pademba Road, down to Congo Town, and King Tom.

It is very easy to walk from the city to Cline Town, where the country’s largest seaport, Queen Elizabeth II Port, is, even though it is quite far from the town center. For example, going to the port from Circular Road, often pronounced in Creole as “Sakula Road,” would take you between fifteen and twenty minutes.

But from the town center, going through Kissy Road could take you a little more than twenty minutes. The port is one of the busiest ports in West Africa since almost the entire business passes through it. Freetown was always bubbling with commercial activities.

The High Court, the General Post Office, the headquarters of Barclays Bank, and almost all the governmental institutions were located close to Siaka Stevens Street. Right in the middle of the city is the cotton tree, which is said to be over a hundred years old and serves as a roundabout.

From Lumley Beach towards Wilkinson Road, Sanders Street, and Savage Street, the houses are located close to the streets. From downtown Siaka Stevens Street, towards Congo Town, at the Cotton Tree's roundabout, one would have to turn right to the Pademba prison, named after the road as Pademba Road. Adjacent to the tree was the National Museum.

At the age of 28, energetic and happy, I embraced Sierra Leone as my second country. Employed at the famous Red Lion Bakery in Kingtom-Freetown as a van driver. I supplied bread each morning at the bread shops at Siaka Stevens Street and Kissy Road.

Both Mrs. Ashwood and her daughter, Mrs. Pamela Grant, gave me the job, and the kind Savage family that gave me accommodation helped me to integrate. Eventually, I naturalized and became one of them. I lived in Freetown for a couple of years and loved their food and music.

To take control of the country, rebel activities led to the worst civil war in the history of Sierra Leone. The long decade of civil war left unforgettable scars and remnants of amputees fighting for education and survival.

After the war, Sierra Leone put that bitter experience behind it without the idea that a disease called Ebola would strike the country. Out of nowhere, in the year 2014, Ebola, a hemorrhagic fever virus that had already appeared in Marburg and Frankfurt, in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1967, and then first in Congo in 1976, appeared in West Africa to strike Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.

AFRICANS! SORRY FOR AIDS AND EBOLA

A sea of Ebola victims buried at the Waterloo cemetery in Sierra Leone

A sea of Ebola victims is buried at the Waterloo cemetery in Sierra Leone

In America and Europe, educated white people with an elitist attitude turn a blind eye to the real needs of Africans.  The domination and manipulation of black people by the so-called elites have devastating effects on the African continent beyond remedy.

.
Soldiers, scientists, and politicians occupying high positions in Europe and America must now realize, within the second millennium, the destruction and aggression that took place in the last two hundred years in Africa, leaving the continent handicapped with poverty and diseases.

I am a scientist (Johan Van Dongen), and since I didn't take part in this horrible crime against mankind, I am free to say that Africa is used as a dumping ground for unwanted drugs, for testing drugs, and for exposing people to bio-warfare products. The deliveries of war materials to the wrong regimes have adversely affected the continent as well.

Actually, it seems that Africa is not part of this world because the people have been seriously abused and degraded as if they were not human beings with a brain walking around on the continent. Yet Africans are the same products of Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanics realized as whites.

So, what is the reason white rulers treat blacks unfairly? Many Europeans and Americans do not realize that there is a black American president. In this way, are we not aware that an educated black person can also occupy a top position throughout the world? Of course, we do, but to what extent nowadays, if we look over the African continent?

For four decades, I did investigations/research to reveal that Aids, Ebola, and many other deadly diseases were medical crimes against Africa. I can't follow their evil deeds, so I'm the enemy today. But that's not what bothers me, because the evil one sows, the same he shall reap.

To scrape everything together to provide some counterweight to the destructive way in which Africans have suffered at the hands of whites, I can say that I am ashamed. Yes, I can also say that I can understand the suffering of Africans.

Every word of a white mouth seems as empty as the promises that he gives to the people on the continent of Africa. It is always easy for Europe and America to manipulate Africa because of the corrupt regimes.

Since Africa is the leading continent in corruption, Europe and America support and pay bribes to corrupt African leaders to remain in power. The corrupt African leaders like that, so how do you expect them to accuse Europe and America of medical crimes against the continent?

The only thing that really holds water, as described, is that Africans are intelligent enough to manage their own lives and do not necessarily depend on the West and America to meddle in Africa's politics.

Africans themselves are in a position to lift the African continent in the course of humanity to the top of the dams, but massive corruption dominates the leaders' minds than the welfare of the poor and helpless Africans.

The so-called educated white folk would have to learn, study, and listen to the voice of Africans. And if a black writer asks himself, “Why were black folks abused and degraded by other races?” there must be an answer; they shouldn't hide from that question. The bell should ring in your minds.

Most striking to me is the absence of African Americans and wealthy Africans in the diaspora. Not a single one is reaching their hand towards Africa, Africans, your descendants, or us, to help reveal the truth about those man-made origins of Aids and Ebola. The Africans in the Diaspora now look like whites and act like whites. They are not real Africans anymore!

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to know why the other races of mankind, especially the white race, abused and degraded the black race in such a manner. I have considered this question from every possible angle and yet have not seemed to find an answer to it.

It was only recently, when I forced myself to grapple with the implications of Quantum Mechanics, that I seemed to get a handle on my question. It simply did not add up for the universe to allow one particular race, black people, to be insulted and humiliated in such a manner for no reason.

Of course, I can tell the white man with tears in my eyes the reason he has abused and degraded the black race. In fact, I have said to all Africans in eighteen articles, my opinion about ‘the origin and spread of Aids.’ We, the Western civilization, have cut off African cultures from their traditional roots and the rest of the world's cultures.

We, especially the Dutch, have captured Africans and brought them to America for our own profit. We make money out of blacks. That must be the answer! It is a disgrace to say that, but where does it really go wrong? It will be most certainly not Alexander the Great, although he was also white.

Intelligent Africans can call upon Alexander the Great and ask him why he didn’t prevent the downflow of Africa, instead of giving them an opening by bringing the African people into the stream of ancient civilizations? But… Alexander didn’t explore the Nile, and as a consequence, interior Africa and African people have been isolated from the rest of the world.

Also striking is that some Africans discussed the presence of mosquitoes and why white folk did not penetrate Africa until the nineteenth century. Within one of my hundreds of previous articles, I explained to Africans and the Afro-Americans that white folk have developed diseases and put them with genetic engineering techniques into African mosquitoes to kill black folks.

This is the reason the type of mosquitoes in Central Africa is different from the normal mosquitoes in Africa. I can imagine that my research may not be satisfactory to many, but you shouldn't doubt what I have said. I have already issued a challenge to all top scientists in Europe and America to prove me wrong, if Aids, Ebola, Lassa fever, and other deadly diseases weren't medical crimes against Africa, up till now, no one has accepted the challenge.

They are quiet, not because I'm crazy or a liar, but rather, they are running away from the truth. They are scared to death if I publish such articles, and since I know that fear in their eyes, I will not stop writing or publishing the truth until the time I go down to my grave to rest. They must also live with their crime and guilty conscience forever.

As it were, nature was preserving Africans for a different type of civilization, the one that Africans are best suited for and the type they would lead the world into, a civilization based on love. Nature did not want to corrupt Africans by making them behave as the other races of mankind behaved hatefully.

All human beings, white, black, and oriental, are the same and are coequal. Intelligence is distributed in the same pattern in all the races. As everywhere else, few Africans have superior intelligence, some have above-average intelligence, most of them are average, and a handful are mentally retarded. If Africans are the same as other people, why are they treated differently?

Dear Africans, in my investigations about ‘Aids and Ebola, the greatest crime in medical history against mankind’, I  explained the reason white folks have driven black people backward, I will do so again within the next articles. The white folks knew that Africans are intrinsically interested in understanding the meaning of love around them and the world they see.

Africans want to understand the implications of their living and seem to be conscious that they are more than matter. Revealing my investigation of Aids and Ebola as medical crimes made me a whistle-blower, passing through a lot of difficulties in my country, the Netherlands, in a situation I could describe as 'Darkness fighting the light.'

Europe has exhausted itself, and it will continue to do so. Therefore, it is now time for Africans to take over the reins of human civilization and to take your continent to a higher phase of civilization yourself. But never, NEVER be grateful to the whites for what they have done for you because they are too much in debt.

Europeans absolutely do not deserve that gratitude. On the contrary, I would say, of course, you have the right to say that love means union with all beings; I cannot deny that. To be truly human is to love all people. Black folks do love; they love white folks despite white folks’ abuse of them. All those facts are true, only… white folks haven’t even started to learn those facts.

“In my opinion, white smartness is a form of stupidity.” I need to say that because it's absolutely not smart to degrade, abuse, or backward African people in such a way. In the West, smart white people get the Nobel Prize for their criminal actions in Africa, which, in my opinion, the Nobel Prize organization is also a criminal institution…!

Every nation that has committed a crime in Africa, during colonial rule or with medical crimes, should accept the responsibility for all the misery in Africa. We cannot exculpate this mess passed on to the Africans. People can only live in peace together if they can live at peace with themselves.

Only then can insidious diseases, wars, riots, and natural disasters that are increasingly bringing humanity into disrepair be stopped.

At the end of the last millennium, all threats were known, and the overall globalization of the third millennium. We should not forget the overall findings by the Aztecs, as they mentioned the cataclysmic year of 2012.

Is it meaningless? I really don’t know. We should wait, but further destroying our world will become increasingly intense, with protests, terror, and calls for war.

I really think we now have to face another sort of cataclysm. Refugee Migration! I also think that we need this to let white people understand what it takes to get a better future.

Therefore, I call upon every African or African refugee to come to the Western world to take back what belongs to you. Yes, Western Europe looted the African continent, and all those riches they are now boasting of are still here. Come and enjoy the fruits of your labour, Africans.

Europeans didn't only steal your wealth, but also your health, prosperity, and identity. This way, the white ones will be forced to change their attitude. We can not shoot every black person as is happening in America, we cannot drown every African in the Mediterranean Sea, and we cannot kill every African with contaminated vaccines and poisonous medicines.

The mere fact that the net assets of the sixty-two richest people, like Soros, Gates, Rockefeller, Zuckerberg, and Rothschild, surpass the total income of the suffering and the underprivileged, indicates that the gap between rich and poor has become unbridgeable.

They use this money in many projects to depopulate the world, sometimes without knowing it. Over a hundred employees of the World Health Organization are paid by Bill and Linda Gates. What about the secretly paid employees in other so-called distinguished organizations?

Pecuniary wealth has become concentrated in countries outside Africa, a continent plundered by human beings and wealth by the whites. In over one hundred poor countries, there's just a sharp drop in the average income shown, and that worldview is an increasingly rapid process to the detriment of Africa, which is not changing for the better.

Africans, you talked about God? I have long wondered exactly who He is and why He allows people to dice with African people for their own gain. I am not God, of course not, but certainly I know that He God is neither Ego, white, black, Jehovah, Muslim, Christian, or Jew. Yes, God is not even an entity but is still present.

I think the current belief on earth is, people feel they will not succeed in describing him as the Ultimate Source and power of the universe. The closest way to describe him to me seems to be Quantum Mechanics and physics theories, but just then, humans will forever be humans until they have eradicated themselves.

Africans sorry!!!! But does my sorry and shame help? I doubt it, the only thing that will rest is to give the world back to the African natives and their splendid traditional healers….. A world without white conquerors…!

AFRICA MUST BOYCOTT ELECTIONS: AIDS AND EBOLA ARE BIO-WEAPONS TO DEPOPULATE THE CONTINENT

African leaders and Barack Obama

African leaders and Barack Obama

African leaders have no solutions to African problems, so they remain slaves to Europe and America. The reason they can’t confront Europe and America about Aids and Ebola medical crimes is ignorance and stupidity.

Africans must boycott elections until the leaders speak the truth about Aids and Ebola medical crimes because the two diseases are bio-weapons against Africa.

The incompetence of many African leaders has caused the downfall of Africa. Years after colonization, African leaders still can’t find the way to lift the continent from poverty and embark on developmental projects.

Even though slavery is long abolished, Africans are still slaves to the developed world. They can’t make any good use of their resources. They only sit and watch Europeans, Americans, and the Chinese enjoying our resources while they serve them as slaves in their own countries.

Many Africans in the Diaspora are willing to come back, but the fear of going bankrupt and facing difficulties in a continent with corruption exceeds all other factors, keeping them from investing.

Shockingly, African leaders remain silent over medical crimes, such as Aids and Ebola, deliberately inflicted on Africans. This is not intelligence at all; it rather shows how weak, powerless, and incompetent African leaders are. Do African leaders have any protection for Africans at all?

Power-conscious African leaders solicit votes with promises and lies, yet they don’t do anything significant for the people who queue for long hours in the sun to cast their votes.

Africans must boycott elections and demand an answer from their leaders over Aids and Ebola medical crimes in the continent by Europe and America.

Aids and Ebola a medical crimes used as bio-weapons to depopulate Africa. The African continent needs justice for those responsible for medical crimes.

Until the true origins of Aids and Ebola are revealed and until African leaders ask Europe and America why they did that to Africa, Africans must boycott elections.

Africa, you’ve got the right to vote or not. Don’t let the threat of these stupid leaders who don’t care about you make you run and stand in the hot sun to vote for them. Boycott elections, Africa boycott elections.

Yesterday was Aids, today is Ebola, what comes next? Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea boycott elections.

AIDS & EBOLA: Belgium’s Professor Van Der Groen Lied Over The Origin Of The Diseases

Belgium's Professor Van Der Groen

Belgium's Professor Van Der Groen

The Aids pandemic and Ebola epidemic have generated many controversies all over the world, since the outbreak couple of months ago, hitting Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, but only the happy few have access to any inside information of the Aids and Ebola research.

What many people don’t know, according to Professor Johan Van Dongen, is the viruses of Ebola was long created within bacteria factories, with dubious micro-organisms and given different names such as Reston virus, Belgrade virus and Marburg virus.

It was when the first outbreak of the virus which occurred near a small river in Africa called Ebola, gave the name of the disease as Ebola. “This is how scientists give names to their findings,” He added.

In Africa there were varieties of wide experiments of dubious scientists, including a crook called Hillary Koprowski. Later there was a hunt to catch this man.

On his normal course of business, he used genetically contaminated engineered vaccines on innocent children in Africa. Not only African children suffered the effect of the contaminated vaccines.

In Australia between 1940 and 1970 hundreds of orphaned children, including babies were used as guinea pigs to test vaccines against influenza, pertussis, and herpes.

This atrocity was confirmed by David Vaux, an expert on infections. In the largest experiment, about 350 children were all injected with doses intended for adults.

Suddenly things started changing positively. Ricardo Veronesi, Professor Emeritus, at the Faculty of Medicine, University Sao Paulo Brasil, together with Dr. Wolff Geisler found out that 97% of the people who have HIV in their bodies, were purposely infected with this virus, which can lead to aids.

They were made artificially susceptible was supplied to them in vaccines, drugs, blood transfusions, and food. HIV containing microbes were also found in drinking water and also insecticide spraying pools.

Smallpox vaccine was contaminated or combined with immunodeficiency SCID the precursor of AIDS. Within the continent of Africa, from west to east more than 100 million children have injected with this the vaccine in cooperation with the WHO and CDC mainly paid by the Rockefeller foundation.

Now to tell you the truth the reason Professor Johan Van Dongen’s account was suspended. He attacked the Rockefeller foundation on LinkedIn platform over heinous this crime.

This is a man who hasn’t committed any crime but because of he can’t shut his mouth over a medical crime he witnessed against humanity, he is now suffering, because he is considered a whistleblower by his government, while the criminals trying everything to cover up this crime, continue to enjoy their lives with impunity.

How can the world go free for Jesus Christ who hasn’t committed any sin to carry the cross alone? Those responsible for this crime should face justice.

This is what they fear most, the reason they hiding behind the crime, including the World Health Organization, (WHO) responsible for CDC smallpox-measles vaccination 1967-1970, themed ‘The global eradication of smallpox.’

Whoever thinks professor Dongen is crazy should seek psychiatric help. Even an uneducated African living in the remote area without electricity will believe his story.

It will be recalled that Professor Johan Van Dongen challenged Belgium’s Professor Van der Groen’s claims that Ebola was invented in the 1960s in Fort Detrick. Because Professor Dongen proved him a liar, the article which appeared in Diplomatic Aspects Newspaper’s link miraculously disappeared from the web.

Why a delegation to educate people on Ebola was brutally murdered in Republic of Guinea?

The Ebola virus

The Ebola virus

Ebola is spreading very fast, putting the lives of health workers also in danger. The outbreak in West Africa is rapidly claiming lives to date, prompting the World Health Organization to declare an international health emergency as more than 2,100 people have died of the virus in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria this year.

The shocking death rate a few months after the outbreak and appeals from aid organizations have prompted the American government to decide to assign 3,000 US military personnel to West Africa's Ebola-affected regions to supply medical equipment, support health workers, and treat victims of the epidemic.

Ebola is a highly dangerous disease. Highly qualified doctors and health workers are at risk if they treat infectious people without proper precautions. Thus, the need for Obama’s administration to send military personnel to help is necessary.

Often, desperate and frustrated people end up doing crazy things. In the village of Womme, outside the town of Nzerekore, in the southeast of Guinea, eight delegation members, including two journalists on a mission to educate the people about Ebola and show them how to prevent it, in a region where many lack education on Ebola, encountered their untimely death.

Many Africans hold the idea that Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) was purposely inflicted on Africa by Europeans to wipe out Africans. The villagers thought the same on the Ebola issue and furiously attacked the delegation, killing them.

The origin of the Aids documentary film

“In the 1950s, American and Belgian missionaries in the Belgian colonies of the Congo widely distributed polio vaccine to a million children in a bid to wipe out the crippling disease; however, evidence now suggests that Dr. Koprowski's oral vaccine may have been tainted and that the first instances of the disease may be linked to those inoculations.

Using interviews, newsreel footage, and documented research experiments, The Origin of AIDS examines how a combination of benevolence, careless lab procedures, and the need of a desperate few to cover their tracks could have led to one of the most serious pandemics of the 20th century.”

Watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZs1V8mpcoY. Africans have lived with this theory for years.

“It's very sad and hard to believe, but they were killed in cold blood by the villagers,” government spokesman Albert Damantang Camara said, according to Agence France-Presse.  The delegation, under the wrath of the villagers with stones and clubs, fled into the bush after the attack, according to the Guinean radio, but they were pursued and killed.

It’s unfortunate that in the midst of such an epidemic, innocent workers could meet such a horrible death. Many health workers are now known to have fled their posts, afraid to work, especially at places where the disease has killed doctors, nurses, and hygienists. The killing of the delegation is now one of the setbacks preventing health care workers from going to affected areas in Africa.

SIERRA LEONE needs more International help aftermath the war

Child killers at war in Sierra Leone

Child killers at war in Sierra Leone

The war in Sierra Leone is over, but the result is disastrous. A grim picture of victims of war with physical and psychological scars is all over the provinces. As said by one of the victims, calling for international help.

"If you can permit me, I can send some photos of war victims still on the streets of  Freetown and other big towns, having no proper care, no shelter, and no food. They only survive by begging on the street for their daily lives."

In 2008, when I visited Freetown, what I saw was really sad to narrate. How could people be so cruel? What crime has the baby or child committed to deserve amputation of both wrists? The victim's mind is still filled with sad emotions of bitterness about what happened to them.

They can forgive but can't forget what exactly took place in Sierra Leone. The war victims are all over the provinces with amputated hands and legs. Sad to say that the less fortunate ones had both hands amputated.

This is the biggest problem the government of Sierra Leone is presently facing.  The people need international help in terms of feeding, shelter, clothing, medical, and education for children roaming on the streets without a certain future.

This horrific war that claimed thousands of lives and maimed both children and adults could have been prevented. The developed countries were very slow to respond to the cry of the Sierra Leoneans, until they observed how serious the war was becoming.

To halt the brutal war, many musicians, including Lucky Dube, the South African reggae star, and the great Joseph Hill of Culture-Jamaica (both deceased), sacrificed their lives to play peace concerts in the capital, Freetown. Joseph Hill told the rebels to put down their weapons, and they obeyed.

At one point, the rebels told the government of Tejan Kabbah that "You are lucky that Paa Hill is here (referring to Joseph Hill), else we shall destroy this city within twenty-four hours".

Even though the government is working to promote the welfare of the people, especially children, youth, and women in their quest to achieve Social Justice, Advocacy, Human Rights, and Social Improvement in a participatory approach, irrespective of Tribe, Race, Gender, and Religion, Sierra Leone still needs international help.

THE BITE OF THE MANGO - Mariatu Kamara's Book

Mariatu Kamara, author of 'The Bite Of The Mango'

Mariatu Kamara, author of 'The Bite Of The Mango'

Interviewed by Jim Clancy, CNN's Inside Africa, the Sierra Leonean-born victim of war and author of the book '' The Bite of the Mango,'' Mariatu Kamara, told her horrific ordeal during the ten-year-long brutal war that maimed thousands of civilians in her country.

Mariatu narrates her story. At 12, fleeing from the activities of the rebels, she finds herself in another village. She felt hungry and decided to go to her village to get some food to eat. On the way, she was captured by the rebels, and they amputated both of her wrists.

For what reason? So that there wouldn't be any hands to vote for the government. But they were wrong ''I still have hands to do whatever I want to do said the courageous woman.

Asked by Jim Clancy why she named her book ''The bite of the mango,'' she explained that after her wrists were cut off, a man came to her aid and offered her a mango to eat. But she felt like a child being fed. Despite the pains and blood gushing out from her wounds, Mariatu held the mango to eat it herself.

At her book launch in the United States of America, the courageous war victim was awarded the ''Voices of Courage Award." She happily interacted and answered questions of people who wanted to know her story and spoke of the meaning of the award to her.

Her message is ''Never give up in life, no matter the situation. She went on further to say that victims of war and other calamities to keep on pushing until success is achieved.

Mariatu is not only a courageous but strong woman who has brought to the awareness of the world the suffering of war victims globally.

Building the future of war affected children in Sierra Leone

Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone

Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is diamond-rich but one of the poorest countries in the world. It was like that country never existed until a decade-long civil war brought it to world attention. Thousands of Sierra Leoneans were victims of the horrific war.

Adults and children suffered mutilations, amputations, and thousands of children were abducted by warring factions and forced to become child soldiers, porters, and child slaves. The country and its victims are still struggling to come to terms with their recent past.

The United Nations Secretary-General's special envoy for Children and Armed Conflict, Mr. Olara Otunnu, who visited Sierra Leone, said that "Without the prospect of jobs and education, Sierra Leonean children could be a source of instability in a country which is yet to recover from a decade of war."

During his week-long visit to Sierra Leone last year, Mr. Otunnu launched "The Voice of the Children," a radio station run by the youths in the capital, Freetown. Otunnu was delighted to see the effort of people trying to rebuild the schools, which are in deplorable conditions.

He said, "Children should be at school rather than mining diamonds. He was shocked to see many children forced as slaves in the diamond mines at Kono district, yet wallowing in poverty and not attending school. Because they don't have adequate facilities."

"He was delighted when the children told him that they preferred to be in school to working at the mines.
